I suffered from resonance in cheap speakerset.Determined it with REW equalizer and then applied Filter and works like a charm. WOW!!.
5 stars is insuffient.

Too esoteric - i.e., time consuming and non-responsive. Tried many configurations, and they did not work. Tried a previous posters GUI equalizer, and it did not work. The pre-amp did work. Hopefully it continues to develop and becomes more (user) intuitive. Also requires Java, which I do not like. Uninstalling (for now) and will try again later.
Thanks.

Fixed the earrape issue that my headphones had. Simple and easy to configure. Would recommend 100%

Excellent equalizer, even better with Peace extension installed, thanks a lot to the developers.

Installed and started using, nothing to learn, it just works as I want to. Excellent! But, one thing; a feature request that could be a little important: Please create compliance to VST 2.4, either by implementing that API, or by creating a 3.0 wrapper into which a VST 2.4 could be launched. I suggest many people have a vast library of 2.4 plugins which unfortunately cannot be used with EqualizerAPO, at the moment.

Excellent job! I have use your software for my CarPC project. Thanks and good luck to your project!!!

Had two headphones, one was open back with too little bass and the other was closed back and very quiet. Took me a few minutes to understand how to work it( but it's probs just me being a dumdum), but once i got it running, amazing. It's free, it's good, it does basically everything, and it's light. Perfection.

I usually rate and review only programs that I really use. This one is a diamond! Windows 10 doesn't have EQ nor it's shipped with Realtek utility. I can set EQ with VLC, but it's not system wide (I regularly use Kodi). Equalizer APO is easy to install, it has GUI to setup config. I don't use anything fancy: I set preamp to my liking and set EQ also to my liking, one for headphones and one for speakers. That's it, and I don't need to touch it at all, it starts silently with Windows, runs in the background, no worries at all. Thanks to developers!

Please make this as well as PEACE for Android 🙂

To be perfect, it's just missing a graphical interface with configurations on the same level.

Unlike most reviewers, I have little need for equalisation as I mainly need to listen to spoken words. However, my Clevo laptop computer, in common with many others, has insufficient built-in speaker volume; even at maximum speech is not loud enough to understand fully. I tried all manner of things to improve this, without success; but Equalizer APO boosts the volume as much as I want, so is the solution to a significant problem - I use 16dB of preamplification, and change nothing else. The program simply runs in background, I don't normally open it. I haven't experimented with actual equalisation, though I expect it would be helpful. One comment: after most major Windows 10/64 updates once or twice a year, the volume often reverts to its unsatisfactory low performance. Running Equaliser APO again and maybe changing the boost by a minimal amount and saving the settings sorts this out. After Win10 updated itself to build 1809 in May 2019, Equaliser APO said that a registry setting had been changed, and repaired it to restore full volume.

Installed it, was very enthusiastic and then it stopped working. None of the fixes or configuration settings worked except for installing Peace GUI which is ugly and slow and doesn't seem to support VST plugins, which were the whole reason why I installed Equalizer APO. It's a great program, if it works. It's also infinitely better, faster, more functional and prettier without the useless and slow Peace GUI, if it works.

The peace GUI newest update doesn’t work with Windows 10, it Tells me can’t configure peace so it never updates & you have to reinstall previous version of peace again. Will there be a fix for this?

As we get older, age-related high frequency hearing loss in inevitable. I have been noticing it a bit at a time in the last few years, but became really noticeable recently. The degree of hearing loss is fairly typical for my age, not pathologic, just plain old aging! The music I have listened tosounds muddier, will loss of the highs. I cannot hear above roughly 13 Hz and my wife the same. No way to recover this loss, but you can compensate perceptually by boosting signal from 8-12 Hz range. This is anathema to purists, but this ignores the realities of aging. Equalizer APO with Peace GUI allows me to compensate for loss of high frequency. Everyone over the age of 50 that listens to music would benefit from this software. Amazing work! Thank you for developing this software :-)

Easily best program to use as a system wide eq that I've found. Has 15 and 31 band eq and various other efects. All of which are easy to turn off and on.

Genial! VST support ! Perfect!

Can't imagine the people that gave this 1 star. This software is the essence of sound engineering. Being able to select a 31 band EQ so I can listen to breathy highs of Jazz flute and clarinet. I can now listen at least for awhile, recordings of birds chirping. Its amazing. I suffer from chemical damage induced by an IV solution that actually saved my life. So its a nice balance. Save life vs lose 37% of your hearing and gradually a more rapid loss as I get older. Well this lil EQ is a godsend. Wish this was an Android or iPhone app. I would pay 50 bucks for it today. Thank you. You have brought back music and sound at the highest and lowest hertz I can hear and I love it.

Found this one while searching for an equalizer for my Bluetooth headsets. I haven't done any real life experiments with filters on Audio. However now i can see the effect of all those High Pass, Band Pass and low pass filters that was earlier in theory only for me. More over there is frequency response also. Also found this alternative interface "Peace Equalizer" for Equalizer APO. Thank you for such a great project!

Man.... Have I been waiting for a Low-level system wide EQ for ages. And here comes this, with a ParamEQ, Notch, Band Pass and various filter, and god damn it even supports VST plugins. This is an ABSOLUTE MUST Have for Pros. Recommended for Music lovers

I created an account just to review and thank you for creating this awesome tool for us! It was always a pain to eq inside Windows 10, because the native/default eq sucks, and the via hd audio one never worked. But with Equalizer APO is the opposite, it has a great and clean UI, and i can finally see exactly what i am doing, and one of the main good reasons for me of course, it's the possibility to backup/restore my settings. And finally, i get even great audio quality now, my headphones sound even better for everything since APO works at a system-wide level.

The preamp and channel swap features work perfectly. I've needed this tool for years, and only just found it.

Simple amazing! 31 bands EQ! Is any chance for users to set the bandwidth of the selected EQ band? Where to donate?

Wow! Much advance software for better sound control. I'm really impressed about the way it works with the pc sound. I'm trying to learn process. Thank you very much.
