I suffered from resonance in cheap speakerset.Determined it with REW equalizer and then applied Filter and works like a charm. WOW!!.
5 stars is insuffient.

Too esoteric - i.e., time consuming and non-responsive. Tried many configurations, and they did not work. Tried a previous posters GUI equalizer, and it did not work. The pre-amp did work. Hopefully it continues to develop and becomes more (user) intuitive. Also requires Java, which I do not like. Uninstalling (for now) and will try again later.
Thanks.

Merci SourceForge.net. This "Equalizer APO" equalizer for Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 10 is exactly what I needed to properly adjust the bass, midrange, treble and spatialization of my Cabasse soundbar (Orange series). I am connected via the fiber optic connector and could not correctly configure the subwoofer without this essential and free audio tool. Thank you SourceForge.net.

Amazing software, it helped me fix annoying resonnances from my desktop speakers. Connection to a Topping E30 DAC via USB works a treat. However, I couldn't get any equalization if processing via my mainboard Realtek's Toslink output.

Just took the plunge.. finally a nice software EQ. Was using old hardware EQ's but with my topping DAC couldn't use anymore, this took that honky midrange out of my monitors, and brightened up the top end. My ears are happy now. Brilliant piece of software. Cheers!

What an amazing piece of software. Now that I'm using it it is absolutely indispensable.

Documentation is somewhat out of date for recent Windows 10; specifically, Windows Control Panel Properties lack "audio enhancement". Included Configuration Editor basically makes REW optional, since it supports instant equalization adjustments. Lacks only real-time analyzer to be a complete solution.

YOUR APP IS GARBAGE I CANNOT UNINSTALL WITHOUT HEARING THE SOUND. I STILL HEAR THE SOUND AFTER I DELETED IT 50000 TIMES. FIX YOUR COMPANY OR I WILL SUE. I WANT A REFUND.

Whoever developed this could not impress me more! I managed to fix resonance problem in the HDMI speakers in my monitor. The app is responsive, intuitive and does everything you expect and so much more. It has VST support!!! ... What?! I am speechless. I can use my Fabfilter EQ or anything else instead of the built in EQ which is too very good. The only thing I could not do is run a VST spectrum analyzers ... TEN STARS nevertheless!

I'm not a pro sound engineer, but I have been a bassist in several local bands for 40 years now. Equalizer APO is a great asset to my PC, allowing me to get the best out of not only CD/DVD's but also YouTube and other source videos. Very happy with the product and would recommend to others; grab a pair of Ultrasone Pro 780i headphones and let the fun begin......

Wow. This is an amazing piece of free software. There is literally nothing like it available on any other OS. I use it to implement a 4-way active speaker system with FIR (linear phase) filters. I would love to migrate my laptop to Linux, but I am stuck in Windows due to this game-changing app. There are minor ease-of-use complaints, but then in other ways, I think they did an amazing job with the GUI configurator. One thing I would like to see fixed, if possible, is that when I regenerate my impulse response, Room EQ Wizard has to be restarted. That could be an REW issue, but it would be nice if live-updates could be seamless since there is a lot of iteration in tweaking the filters with rePhase.

Used this along with peace GUI for best experience. This replaced my sound cards 6 band equalizer. Made a huge difference. The only thing I need to look into is why the 20hz frequency range is not used or does nothing. EQ frequencies from 10 to 16k work as expected.

Good stuff, makes listening to my music on my Onkyo receiver/Focal speakers easy on the ears. No complaints at all.

Powerful options! Worked like a charm on my windows 10 PC.

I have it installed more than 2 years ago, and the truth is the best equalizer I have installed, what I like most is the possibility of using VST plugins that gives me a lot of advantage when it comes to improving the sound of youtube videos and not only youtube but the general audio of my pc without spending resources, for now I am using the patchwork for some plugins.

It did exactly what I needed to do, BUT I had to watch a YouTube video to show me how. It certainly wasn't intuitive. I wanted to BOOST the sound on the laptop.

Woa ! Fantastique !

Exactly what I needed. I'm not an audiophile by any means and I don't have expensive gears. All I need is to correct the sound for some cheap chinese earbuds and to cut the extra bass for some bluetooth headsets. This app does the job with ease. I have it for a couple of days; so far it seems to be kind of complicated for me to operate it but I've got plenty of time to explore it. Before this app I've used a google extension to equalize the sound but it is limited at the browser itself only. The Asus app my laptop came with sucks in all respects and the Windows control of sound isn't there for some reasons (the equalization part at least). Great App, congratulations to the developer.

I got a bunch of Bluetooth-multiroom speakers to listen to podcasts around the apartment, but the manufacturer decided to give them something like a 12 dB bass boost, so they'd sound "more impressive" with a Hip-Hop demo track in the store. In reality, they sound horrible with way too much boomy bass, even more so when you try and listen to podcasts or audio books. Now because they are connected via Bluetooth, Windows doesn't offer much driver wise (except for a bass boost, doh!) so I am really glad I found this EQ. Installation was quick and easy, I was asked on which audio devices I want to install the driver, I only chose the BT speakers, not my DAC (don't need EQ there, I use it via WASAPI anyways). Worked perfectly. It took me a minute to find out the way config.txt and other preset files are treated and used, but it's fairly easy if you're a little computer savvy. What I found a bit weird was that the standard config included an active -6 dB pre-gain, I didn't expect that and almost overlooked it. Now that I EQ'd out all the boomy bass and optimized some other frequencies for speech, my multiroom speakers sound very nice for spoken word content and are a pleasure to listen to. What I also really like about the EQ is that it is very unobtrusive, doesn't use much CPU (like almost none) and is very easy to access via the GUI panel. Another bonus is that you can save presets in normal text files and back them up somewhere else, so no Windows update can ever delete your EQ presets (like it tends to do in some driver-based EQs)

So happy I found this project! Was looking for a way to hook up VST to windows output for years! It was possible to do this with virtual cables and a standalone VST host, but latency was unacceptable. APO is the perfect solution for this. Thank you so much for developing this!

Equalizer APO is great; very versatile. I can recommend windows audiophiles and audio engineers to use this. However, there are countless times where I have keyed in a wrong value for the parametric EQ gain (+107 db instead of +1.07 db) and that has led to lots of frustration, and potentially damaged ears & equipment. Please fix this. Set a limit to how much gain can be applied for parametric EQ. It would be nice to also have user-defined limits too.

5 minutes into using it, exactly what I needed. Fantastic!! Everything sounds so much better. Listening on my laptop thru headphones so I don't wake my wife up, but now my singing probably will anyway ;) Great EQ, thank you :)

I'm mainly using it for EQ and amplification and it's excellent. It would be perfect if it had a drop down to quickly select between EQ profiles. A+

I use Behringer Ultracurve Pro DEQ2496 with linear mike to equalize. Thrilled with this thing. Simply write/ transfer the derived settings form the Ultracurve. Can set up friends without them needing to outlay for an expensive instrument. Very smart flexible unit.

Great equalizer, nice work.
