Sigmeter should add a menubar item to monitor the strength of your wireless connection in the menubar when launched with a card is inserted. WirelessConfig is indeed a stripped down version of the prefpane. Development was stopped on this app when we switched to the prepane, I'm not sure why rob included it in the last release but the source is still available in cvs in case Dave ever needs to move the prepane back to an application. Rob E, I don't use WEP, because I use the MAC address of the card for security. I have a d-link 713p wireless router that allows for that. Sorry, Rob |

Try restarting your machine. For some reason it didn't work after the initial reboot. However, when I relaunched my system a second time it began working fine. Robert E. I just got my DSW 650 working as well (unencrypted). I would like to run in encrypted mode, but had no luck at 128. Have you had any better luck? Thanks in advance! Robert E. Hi, First of all great work, the driver is working prefect in my wallstreet (rev 2) (300mhz), 10.2 (jaguar) and a d-link card. The only question I have is what are the two icons that appeared in my applications folder (sigmeter and WirelessConfig). The sigmeter doesn't do anything and the wirelessconfig look like a striped down version of the wirelessconfig in system preferences. Thanks in advance, ROB |

Hi everyone! I installed the software on my German system and it works with a Netgear MA401! However I can only access the comand line config tool, the preferences pane doesn't show up (but it is installed). Is it perhaps the fact, that I use a German language version of OS X? Thanks! Uli |

Yes, please. It's the same here. Strong signal, automatically resetting DHCP on connect but unable to connect to the DHCP host (self assigning instead). I guess it's because of WEP not working. I am trying to use WEB using a hex key. Interestingly, when I reboot (reinit of the card and driver/panel?) the control panel shows Airport40 instead of the HEX key popup item and hex value I entered before. Then, when switching the popup to hex again, it doesn't show the key and the text field would not react to keystrokes. I can make the key reappear, but I don't remember how exactly. It was about changing the poup back an forth and clicking into the key text field. -Stefan >I'll look into this. I'll look into this. I was going to make some changes to the WEP code anyways. -Rob On Wednesday, September 11, 2002, at 04:13 PM, Tom Tokoph wrote: > Jamie- > I have a Wallstreet 300 / Silver card and I can't seem to get it to > work. Jamie- I have a Wallstreet 300 / Silver card and I can't seem to get it to work. I have a strong signal according to the Wireless control panel and the Network Panel (en1) is selected and automatically configures using DHCP. My computer connects to the internet great when directly plugged into the Ethernet. For some reason, it just won't connect wirelessly. Please let me know if you have any pointers! If I'm at an airport, Internet cafe, or other location with a wireless=20 network, how can I make WirelessDriver search it out and locate it? Thanks, Jon -------------------------------------------------------------------- mail2web - Check your email from the web at http://mail2web=2Ecom/ =2E |

I have an Airport (Snow) ABS which is working fine with a wired ethernet network. I now want to add my PowerBook G3 Bronze wirelessly. I have a Linksys WPC11 ver 3 in the PCI card port and installed the Wireless Driver Beta 5_1 on the PowerBook which is running Jaguar. I then rebooted and ran the Airport Setup Assistant but it says that there is no airport card. So, how do I go about getting this PowerBook as part of the network and to recognize the ABS so I can share the Internet Connection. ------------------------------- Jeffrey S.
