Worked the same way for me. I'm happy to report I'm up and running with the EnGenuis internal card and a Belkin wireless router using DSL. And all i can say is: WOW. This happens when the card associates with a network on startup (perhaps as a result of automatic scanning, as the prism 2 cards do) but can't communicate with it for some reason (e.g. wrong WEP key). Not much you can do about it except leave the card out while booting. |

Installed the latest driver a couple of days ago for the first time, and while everything seems to be working OK, I'm experiencing unusually long boot times. When starting up the TI PB, the booting up process pauses at "Waiting for network initialization" for just about 1 minute, and then boots up normally. Is this normal? Thanks to all in advance. |

I'm having problems getting the most recent version of the driver to work on Jaguar. It loads fine and my Orinoco card shows up on the network preferences fine. However, when I go to "Apply Now" I don't get a workable IP address from the Orinoco RG1100. "Configure" is set to use DHCP but more often than not I get a "self assigned" IP address that doesn't work. Can anybody help me with this problem? It happens at home using the RG1100 and at work using a Cisco access point. Thanks, you guys rock! Moe |

Sadly, my original observation and suggestion regarding the use of Printer Sharing as a work around for the fact that the WirelessDriver does not yet handle AppleTalk over ethernet, is restricted to certain situations. Generic Printer Sharing works like a charm when all the players are running OS 10.2.x : Any printer that is accessible (via USB or AppleTalk) to a Mac (Computer A) running Jaguar can be shared by that computer simply by checking the "Printer Sharing" Service under the System Preferences "Sharing" panel. Set up the printers using Print Center, then enable Printer Sharing and you are done. Go to another Mac (Computer B) running Jaguar, open Print Center and all those printers you just defined on computer A will be available in your list of printers. It matters not that Computer B does not have AppleTalk or direct USB connectivity to those printers. It MAY also be true that Computer C running earlier versions of OS X can "see" such shared printers, but I have no way to test this. Please correct me if this is wrong. In mixed OS 9 and OS X environments, the following rules apply: I don't believe there is any way to declare an AppleTalk printer as "shared" from any version of OS 9. One would have simply used the Chooser to select any AppleTalk printer from each OS 9 system. No overhead would have been incurred by some other Computer for such sharing. You can share a USB printer provided * all the Macs are running OS 9 * OR the Mac directly connect to the printer is running OS 10.2.x and the other Macs are running OS 10.2.x. or OS 9 USB printer sharing was introduced in OS 9... was not available in OS 10.0.x or OS 10.1.x... and was reintroduced in OS 10.2. [[ The above observations about USB printer sharing were posted on the Apple Discussions under Airport last month.]] So, Rich, I think you are out of luck unless you can also upgrade the G4 OR get a hardware print server which will have the effect of giving your HP6 an IP address. When I did this, a new network configuration was found (en1 again), and all was happy happy joy joy. Hi, I have a problem configuring my Airport network. I have a Cube with an Airport card that is the software station. The PowerBook G3 has a PCMCIA card using the wireless driver 5.1beta. Both Macs use OS X 10.2.1. The wireless driver is excellent. I used Pacifist to unstuff all the files in a folder and then moved the files to the right location (I read that the installer script is not installing the files in the proper location). While the card works great with my Wlan PCMCIA card I I have noticed that I can't see the Cube in the ichat rendevouz buddy list when I login with the Cube while I am online with the PB. The Cube can see the PB in the rendevouz window though as soon as I open iChat on the PB. The cube is connected to the internet using a DSL modem and the Airport is setup to share the connecction. I can connect to the internet from both computers but I want to transfer files between the computers. The PB won't see the Cube. I looked at the ipaddresses and saw that the PB uses 10.0.2.2 while the Cube uses 169.172.x.x, I thought that both computers should use 10.0.2.x ipaddress. Does anyone have an instructions how to setup this properly. //Rob -- To be is to do. - Socrates To do is to be. - Sartre Do be do be do. - Sinatra |

Installed 10.2 today on my PowerBook Pismo/G3 500. My Linksys WPC11 card has working been working perfectly with the Linksys WAP-Cable/DSL Router for several weeks (10.1.5 and the pre-10.2 WirelessDriver). But since my clean Jaguar system and 5.1 Beta install today I'm pooched. The en1 connection shows up in my existing network configurations but it's greyed out. New network configurations I create do not include en1 at all. There's a new menubar item with The Linksys Group, Inc Instant Wireless Network PC Card Power Off Card Only the Power Off Card item is active; selecting it removes the menu altogether. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the WirelessDriver with no success. Read the FAQ (offline and on) but found nothing relevant. And so I'm here for help - the output from Troubleshooting info.command is below. Hi, I'm probably missing something obvious, but I installed the latest released version of the wireless driver and am using an Orinoco Silver card, but have not been successful at getting the computer to recognize the card. Neither light of the card lights up nor does the ifconfig report a recognized network interface for the card. I have an airport card at en1, so I expected to see an en2 in the network preference tool. Unfortunately, it does not not appear (I have just the standard modem, builtin, and airport options). Below, I have attached the results of running the troubleshooting script. I am trying to connect on an open network. Any help you can provide would be appreciated. Thanks. Greets, I've been consulting with Applecare about a problem I've been having with my Keychain becomming spontaneously corrupted. They suggested I make a new keychain and try all my apps one at a time to see if I can duplicate the cause. So far I've been unsuccesful at getting it to come back. Since the wireless driver stores the WEP keys in the keychain, I was wondering if anyone else was experiencing similar issues with their keychain becomming corrupted while using the wireless drivers. Anyone having this problem? Patrick |

Mac Wireless Gurus, I don't have an "EN1" option listed under Show in the Network pane on the TCP/IP tab. From what I understand, OS X is supposed to autodetect the PCMCIA wireless card (in this case an Engenius Internal card). Clearly, it is not doing that. I cannot find any information on how to do port detection for an ethernet adapter. I will list the results of running Troubleshooting info.command below. Any help is appreciated. Thanks for the time and the drivers! Doug |

O.k, I've been pouring over posts on this list from the last 2 months plus, and it seems that the problem with Netgear's MA401RA card hasn't been resolved. I bought one today (no I didn't visit this list first!) and I've done everything suggested on this list with no success. I've done the multiple installs with restarts in between each one. I've uninstalled and reinstalled. I've edited the info.plist file and added the correct card info. I've downloaded a flash upgrade for my wireless router and installed it. All for nothing. I've got no (en1) in my network preferences and no way to connect. Has anyone ever managed to find a way to make this thing work?
