Hi all, a few weeks ago I took one step back from being the Webmin Translation Co-Ordinator and now I will do the final second one. As of 01.11.2005 the Webmin Translator's List and all the sub-lists for Webmin Trans French and Webmin Trans Persian will be closed down and they will be permanently deleted one week after the close down. All of these lists were hosted by myself and they are closed down because they do not seem to be of a general interest anymore so translation stuff can be moved to the webmin developer's list I think. If someone want to take over the responsibility in maintaining the lists on his/hers server I will happily assist him/her to move the current stuff to the new location. If this is the case please leave a message to: <mailto:mm...@us...> bis dahin/kind regards Martin Mewes -- Fragen zur unbeaufsichtigten Installation von SuSE Linux sind hier ontopic: sus...@su... _______________________________________________ webmin-trans mailing list web...@ma... http://mailman.mamemu.de/mailman/listinfo/webmin-trans |

Unfortunately, no. I looked into adding support for it, but found that the syslog-ng config file was almost impossible to parse for editing in a GUI like Webmin. give the user access to the sendmail module... then, edit the access for that user (on the webmin users configuration, under the name of your client, you click on the "sendmail" module, and there you answer all "no" except for aliases... you can restrict which aliases your client can change) I do not know anyway to show the aliases without having a sendmail module.. but I suppose that it's possible! G'day.
One thing I would like to offer my clients is the use of WebMin to
manage mail server aliases. I can't find a module that does what I
want, though:
* manage /etc/aliases manually
* hook into useradmin to add/remove aliases on user create/delete
* not be hidden in the depths of another mail server module
Is there something out there that I have missed? I checked the standard
modules and the third party modules pages on the standard site, and it
doesn't look like there is anything.
Basically, the use case here is that I have clients who I don't want
touching the mail server configuration, but who I do want to be able to
add and remove aliases themselves.
Any suggestions, or should I write something myself?
Regards,
Daniel

Thanks, Joe. That was exactly what I was looking for! I have used your module in the past on other systems, but I had not installed it yet on my Virtualmin Professional system. After you get your overhaul done, it will be a great addition as a standard module. At the moment, the Postfix module cannot be restricted in that way. A better solution would be to install the Virtualmin module, which does allow users to be created who have access to only aliases in a single domain. It supports Sendmail, Qmail and Postfix mail servers.. - Jamie |

Hey Alan, My System Information module has a netstat mode. You can get it here: http://www.swelltech.com/projects/webmin/sysinfo.html To get to "netstat -l" data click on Network Statistics and then Listening Sockets. The module is getting an overhaul as soon as I have some time to spare. There's quite a few improvements architecturally that need doing, and it is a great place to experiment with AJAX features (realtime graph updates without page reloads would be lovely). The module only has configs for Red Hat based systems, I think, but modifying it to run on just about any other Linux or Unix would be pretty easy (it will get FreeBSD, Debian, SUSE, Mandrake, and Gentoo support in a month or two for reasons I suspect you, as a Virtualmin Professional user, can guess). Is there a Webmin module to list all open ports on a system, such as the netstat command? I noticed the "Running Processes" module will show network connections for a given process, and it allows for searching all processes for a given port. But it does not seem to have a way to list all open ports, or search for a range of ports. Has something like this been developed? If not, would it be appropriate to add these features to the "Running Processes" module, or would a separate "Network Connections" module be in order? Thanks, Alan |

Hi together. Thank you for the answer Jamie, but i asked for the virtual Adress Mapping = List. Have you got an solution for that too? I explain: The admin (webmin User ) of each domain can edit the virtual address list For example: peter@a.bc goes to a.bc.0001 ( this is a user mailbox on the server )=20 So, I can=B4t say in the webmin modul for postfix, that the admin of a.bc e= ven only sees the virtual addresses for the domain a.bc --- he sees all map= pings on the server, even these from other domains. In the sendmail configuration modul for webmin users I can say, that the us= er only can edit virtual mapping for RegExp matches a.bc This I cant do in the postfix configuration module on the webmin You got any solution for that problem? Are you using any hostnames instead in your firewall rules instead of IP addresses? Using a hostname may slow down the process of loading the firewall while it is looked up.. In fact, this may fail completely if the DNS server cannot be contacted, perhaps due to another firewall rule. - Jamie -----Original Message----- From: "SafelistSmart Support" <saf...@co...> Subj: [webmin-l] Linux Firewall not restarting at boot Date: Wed 19 Oct 2005 2:04 am Size: 1K To: <web...@li...> Since upgrading to Webmin 1.230, upon rebooting the server Linux Firewall is either not starting or is starting but not fully activating the last set of saved rules. Hi There I have got a problem. I install postfix and SLES8 out of the box. Then i installed webmin and Usermin, configure everything and everything is working fine. We are a MailHoster and our customers organize their virtual adresses ( EmailAdress to mailbox ) on their own. In the Webmin Modul Sendmail ( our old Server) , i can say, that the Webmin User "willy" only sees the virtual adresses from @willy.com for example. There is no possiility under in the postifx modul and the user willy sees all virtual adresses existing on the server!!!!!!!! Anyone got a idea, how to fix that, to filter the view on the virtual adresses per Each configured WebMinUserModul Postfix Configuration? =20 Thanks for your help. You should try connecting in a browser other than IE, such as Firefox. IE hides the real error message from the web server, so it is hard to see what is going wrong.. - Jamie -----Original Message----- From: Matt <fro...@ya...> Subj: Re: [webmin-l] Webmin Login Help Date: Tue 18 Oct 2005 5:09 am Size: 2K To: web...@li... Thanks a lot for the help. It worked fine for me. Another question is the first time I click the link https://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:10000/session_login.cgi?user=adminamp;pass=xxxxxxamp;log_account=10 , it comes up with an error saying The page cannot be displayed There is a problem with the page you are trying to reach and it cannot be displayed. But if I just give the link https://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:10000 and hit enter, it shows the login page which is fine. But after that click the above url with the username and password it works just fine. What is the reason it doesn't work initially? Does it need to set any cookies? Why does it work the second method. Any help or suggestion is highly appreciated. The url is https://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:10000/session_login.cgi?user=adminamp;pass=xxxxxxamp;log_account=10 Now I want to able to control which page is loaded by default depending on the value of log_account, for eg: if log_account=10, I want it to load Networking page and if log_account=20, I want it to load System page. Can I check the value of log_account or any other variable I pass? So can anyone explain how webmin's login process works and what file is executed after the login button on session_login.cgi has been clicked? You should be able to specify the page to go to after login already, by adding a URL parameter like : amp;page=/%3Fcat%3Dsystem to go to the system category. - Jamie ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by: Power Architecture Resource Center: Free content, downloads, discussions, and more. http://solutions.newsforge.com/ibmarch.tmpl - Forwarded by the Webmin mailing list at web...@li...
