Hi Faisal, The proper method is to use the Manage Databases page to add an extra DB for the server first, and then install the script. OK, well I want to do two backups, one with each individual site (to be backed up to tape on another server) and another complete file for the daily restore. So I have Virtualmin do the individual backup to one server that for that purpose. Then I do another backup for the complete file using the following: /usr/libexec/webmin/virtual-server/backup-domain.pl --dest /root/fullbackup/backup_Frodo --all-domains --all-features --ignore-errors This I use RSnyc to move to a third server that I will do the nightly restore using: /usr/libexec/webmin/virtual-server/restore-domain.pl --source /root/fullbackup/fullbackup/backup_Frodo --all-domains --reuid --all-features FWI, I tried using Virtualmin manually as well and got the same thing, so it is definitely the backup that is corrupt. Hi Jamie, I have a Samba group "Domain Users" I want to make a default secondary group for new LDAP users but I can't get it to work. I tried putting it in double quotes in the module config but that didn't seem to work. Is there a trick here I need to know about? Thanks Murray |

Hi Jamie, As I upgraded the ProFTP to 1.2.10 I noticed that there isn't any PAM on the machine. When I went to install the PAM module I got the prompt "module pam does not support this operating system (Slackware Linux 10.0). ProFTP requires PAM, good reason I can't authenticate. Any suggestions? Of note, I installed your recent virtual email plugin and walla, owner of domain.com can login to webmin and administer only his allowed server ( up till then he would log in and view all of webmin with rights). including adding email accounts. Great work on the fly! So all I lack is the ability to ftp websites from an ftp client. You are right that the FTP protocol has no way to know what site a user is connecting to, unless they each have separate IP addresses. However, this only matters if you are doing virtual anonymous FTP hosting.. If you just want to allow domain owners and other users to FTP in to manage files, any FTP server in the default configuration should work fine. If your users are having trouble logging in, check /var/log/secure or authlog for error messages .. perhaps they have the wrong shell? - Jamie ------------------------------------------------------- SF.Net email is sponsored by: Tame your development challenges with Apache's Geronimo App Server. Well when I installed the one domain it told me that the DNS already existed on the box which coflicts with the restore. I have the DNS configured differently and want it left alone. In other words I want to restore everything but the DNS files. Oh .. in that case, you would use : /usr/libexec/webmin/virtual-server/restore-domain.pl --source /root/fullbackup/fullbackup/backup_Frodo --all-domains --reuid --all-features - Jamie On Tue, 2005-11-15 at 14:04, Vernon Webb wrote: > It's not one site it's around 20 sites and I want to restore them all. > > On Mon, November 14, 2005 9:55 pm, Jamie Cameron wrote: > > On Tue, 2005-11-15 at 13:37, Vernon Webb wrote: > >> OK I got one domain to backup from a gz file. Also, If I want to run this and overwrite sites that already exist will this work? It also tells me if I want to install certain services I would have to indicate "their short names", what would they be? I want to install everything expect the DNS records. OK I got one domain to backup from a gz file. Now I have created one file with all the domains in it and am trying to restore them. What I have does not work, here it is: /usr/libexec/webmin/virtual-server/restore-domain.pl --domain /root/fullbackup/fullbackup/backup_Frodo --reuid --all-features --all-domains Thanks -- This message has been scanned for viruses and dangerous content by MailScanner, and is believed to be clean. |

Please ignore my last email. I found I had a bad NIC in my box which was causing the transmission between boxes to be interrupted. Works great I must say! Thanks -- This message has been scanned for viruses and dangerous content by MailScanner, and is believed to be clean. |
