Seems that the quota bug in Webmin affected CentOS 3.x (RHEL 3) machines. The errors seemed to occur 'after' altering one quota through Disk Quotas on Webmin. The new release fixed that. Anyone having oddities or on these systems and using quotas should do the update. All the group settings disappeared in Webmin, but must have somehow still been active on the system, even though repquota didn't show any group settings. Still, I had groups which were shut down due to quota issues in spite of the users being set to unlimited. I did have to rebuild the quota files after the upgrade before things were back to normal. Thanks for the info .. I will update Webmin in the next release to support this new format. Let me know if you notice if the format of any of the other config files has changed.. - Jamie On Tue, 2005-12-06 at 11:18, Steve Pritchard wrote: > HI Jamie, > > The change I've noticed so far is in the 'Zones Setup'. > > Shorewall 2: ZoneID Display Name Description > WAN WAN Link ti I'net > > Shorewall 3: Zone Type Options In Options > Out Options > WAN ipv4 > > > Basically, the ZoneID is now also the Display Name, plus there's a list of > other options. Hi Matt, There is no way to change that colour in the MSC theme unfortunately.. The page background is really under the control of the theme anyway, so if you did want to alter it you should create your own theme. - Jamie |

Hi, I have jsut started writing a new webmin module, and cant find a way to change the colour of the table produced after calling the &header funtion. after the header funtion outputs its last line it sets the background to white (#ffffff) which causes a thick white border around all my output :( The last line output from the &header function apears to be : </tr></table></td></tr></table><table border=0 width=95% align=center cellspacing=0 cellpadding=0><tr><td bgcolor=#ffffff> <table border=0 width=95% align=center cellspacing=0 cellpadding=0><tr><td> but i want to be able to change the bgcolor to something else, is there a way to do this? or is this a quirk of the MSC theme? HI Jamie, The change I've noticed so far is in the 'Zones Setup'. Shorewall 2: ZoneID Display Name Description WAN WAN Link ti I'net Shorewall 3: Zone Type Options In Options Out Options WAN ipv4 Basically, the ZoneID is now also the Display Name, plus there's a list = of other options. I've included the default 'zones' file from 3.0.2 Interfaces and hosts seems the same, haven't dug much deeper as I can't select a zone for rules or policies! Cheers, Steve P. #########################################################################= ### #############3 # Shorewall version 3.0 - Zones File # # /etc/shorewall/zones # # This file determines your network zones. # # Columns are: # # ZONE Short name of the zone (5 Characters or less in length). # The names "all" and "none" are reserved and may not be # used as zone names. # # Where a zone is nested in one or more other zones, # you may follow the (sub)zone name by ":" and a # comma-separated list of the parent zones. The parent # zones must have been defined in earlier records in this # file. # # Example: # # #ZONE TYPE OPTIONS # a ipv4 # b ipv4 # c:a,b ipv4 # # Currently, Shorewall uses this information only to reorder the # zone list so that parent zones appear after their subzones in # the list. In the future, Shorewall may make more extensive use # of that information. # # TYPE ipv4 - This is the standard Shorewall zone type and is the # default if you leave this column empty or if you enter # "-" in the column. Hi,
Just got this as we finally have the mail back up. THanks for the
update and the heads up. We've been chasing what I thought was a
DOS here but now I see we've been more likely exploited. Is there
any information out as to getting rid of what ails our machines now?
We have huge (for this little shop) UDP traffic consisting of named
process requests that is just killing the message log with denied
requests.

Hi everyone,
Webmin version 1.250 is now available for download from
http://www.webmin.com/ and mirror sites. This release includes
the following changes :
- Fixed a denial of service attack and possible remotely exploitable
security hole caused by a bug in Perl.
- Multiple DNS records and Cron jobs can now be deleted at once
in their respective modules.
- Apache define variables are automatically detected on Redhat,
SuSE and Mandrake Linux.
- The Dovecot module now supports the config format used by
version 1.0.
- The File Manager module can search for files by their content,
and preview images.
- Added options to the Sendmail module for controlling the order
in which the mail queue is processes and flushed.
- A bunch of other bugfixes and small changes.
Because of the security hole in older versions of Webmin, I would
strongly
recommend upgrading to 1.250. Because this is a Perl internal
problem
it may not effect all operating systems and Perl releases, but you
can't
be too careful!
Also available is Usermin 1.180, which includes the following
changes :
- Fixed the same security hole as in Webmin.
- The File Manager module can search for files by their content,
and preview images.
- The Mail Forwarding module allows a From: address for
autoreplies
to be entered in 'simple' mode.
As always, please send me any bug reports or feature suggestions
that
you might have.
- Jamie

Ah, that would be the cause of the problem.. Ubuntu is a variant of Debian, right? In that case, assuming that you installed the package from www.webmin.com, it should have used /var/spool/cron/crontabs by default for the cron files directory. Or perhaps the OS wasn't detected properly at install time .. if you go to the Webmin main menu, that OS and version does it display at the bottom of the page? - Jamie On Sat, 2005-12-03 at 10:53, Damien Hull wrote: > Here's what I got out of the webmin module > > /var/spool/cron > > crontabs are kept in /var/spool/cron/crontabs > > Oh! > > Got it working =) > > Fedora Core 3 has them in /var/spool/cron. Hi Steve, You can move a zone in Webmin by clicking on it, and then on the Edit Zone Options icon. At the bottom of the page that appears is a buton for moving the zone into a view .. - Jamie -----Original Message----- From: cam...@cn... Subj: Re: [webmin-l] Private DNS server Date: Sat 3 Dec 2005 11:02 am Size: 2K To: web...@li... Jamie, Thanks, Thank goodness for plain text warning messages that actually say what the problem is!! I kinda figured that would be the answer but how do you "move" zones once they are created, especially the default zones, to views, and eliminate them from the non-view schema using Webmin?
