/usr/bin/monshow
An excerpt from the monshow man page, FYI:
DESCRIPTION
monshow show the operational status of the mon server. Both
command-line and CGI interfaces are available.
<SNIP>
CGI INVOCATION
If monshow is invoked with the "REQUEST_METHOD" environment
variable set, then CGI invocation is assumed. In that case, monshow
gathers variables and commands submitted via the POST method and
QUERY_STRING. Command-line options are ignored for security reasons.
All reports which are produced via the web interface have a text mode
equivalent.

Jamie: =20 Experimenting recently with the mon module, I get an "unknown directive: serverbind" when attempting to use any of the links in the module. This directive is documented in the man page (e.g. what address should server bind). Perhaps a bug? Comment it out and everything works as expected. =20 Also, I note that the Debian package no longer includes the mon.cgi and related files. Instead they have a monshow command which theoretically works from either the command line or as a cgi. I wonder if you'd consider either/both of allowing a choice between mon.cgi/monshow in the module config, or including a hyperlink to the mon.cgi home on SourceForge: http://moncgi.sourceforge.net/ to make it easier on those who don't know they have to install it separately? =20 =20 Thanks and happy holidays! =20 Neal Morgan |

At the moment, you can't use substitutions like $USER and $DOM in the
destination part of an alias .. however, this is a great idea, so I will
add it in the next release.

Hi ,
I am using Virtualmin 2.610 with FC 4 and postfix installed. I tried to
edit the default server template and added 2 aliases as "Mail Aliases
for new Domains" like the following table :
Mailbox name or * *Destination address
*------------------- ----------------------
postmaster ${USER}@${DOM}
abuse ${USER}@${DOM}
when I tried to add a new virtual host to the system the following
aliases created but the substituation of the ${USER} and ${DOM} was not
done ! it means that the aliases are wrong .
is it a bug in virtualmin or there some another solution for creating
default aliases ?

Hello all I have right now 4 domains that I am controlling from my Nameserver. I go into webmin and click on one of the domains to go to the Edit Master Zone page. I then click on reverse Address and I put in the information. Under address I put the IP (for example. 192.168.1.2) then under hostname I put the domain (for example. mail.myserver.com.) then hit create. I then get an entry that says 192.168.1.2.myserver.com (for address) and mail.myserver.com (for hostname). But when I go to check my reverse lookup for my email from dnsstuff.com it says that I have no reverse dns setup. I have waited for a week to see if dns just needed updated and still no luck. Am I missing something. Thanks Cojast -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Anti-Virus. Version: 7.1.371 / Virus Database: 267.14.3/209 - Release Date: 12/21/2005 |

You need to install that missing module from
http://www.roth.net/perl/Daemon/
The error message from Webmin is misleading .. it should really say
Win32::Daemom instead of Win32::Daemon::Simple

Thank you for the suggestion. That will help a great deal. I wasn't
quite sure what all the differences were that would let me change it
from slave to master.

There is no support for this in Webmin at the moment, although it is a
good idea for a future feature. It may be easiest to simply edit your
named.conf file and change all the 'type slave;' entries in the slave
zones to 'type master;' , and delete the sections like :
masters {
1.2.3.4;
};

You can just open the correct URL for your system in your browser. The URL that Webmin displays is based on the hostname, but that may not actually be resolvable from other PCs.
