The short answer is no.. Webmin themes are implemented using a document root layering feature that is only supported by miniserv. However, it will work if you just proxy through to miniserv from Apache, rather than running the CGI from Apache directly. - Jamie -----Original Message----- From: "Karthikeyan Subramaniam" <ksu...@ad...> Subj: [webmin-l] Apache & Webmin themes Date: Thu 9 Feb 2006 11:41 am Size: 623 bytes To: <web...@li...> Hi , Does Webmin1.260 support the 'themes' while running it on Apache? Hi Yanik, Yes, that button will remove the drive from the volume group without causing the loss of any data. However, it will only work if there is enough free space on the remaining drives to hold any data that is moved off the one that is removed. Basically, the sum of the sizes of all existing LVs must be less than the sum of the sizes of the remaining PV drives.. - Jamie -----Original Message----- From: Yanik Doucet <yd...@fo...> Subj: [webmin-l] LVM module question. I will add a button for switching to a user like that in the next release. In fact, it is even better than the current method, as it would support users that are not listed in the Users and Groups module (such as those in NIS or LDAP). - Jamie |

Hi,
I am still working on the syslog-ng module at the moment .. however, it
is a slow process due to the complexity of the syslog-ng config file. So
it could be several more weeks before even a beta is available.

I know I can log in into Usermin as userNN if I go to "System/Users and Groups" and then click on the userNN, then in the edit page I have a button to "Login to Usermin"... But I think it would be convenient to be able to have something that would let me (or my client) log in as userNN from the Webmin/Usermin module... (as one can right now if the user is listed in the "Current Login Sessions") Not a biggie ;)... only because the other day I needed to do that.. and I could not see it!!! Dear Jamie, Good evening. > It sounds like there was still a MySQL 'db' table entry for the user. > You can see these in the MySQL module of Webmin, on the Database Permissions page. > > If Virtualmin is creating this when you add a server but not removing them when you delete, that is a bug .. > Thanks for your comments. I'm wondering whether the problem occured because a couple of weeks my server crashed due to a DoS (Denial of Service) attack. When a Linux expert got it up and running again for me some of the configurations weren't quite right. For instance, in the list of virtual servers, all the servers showed they had 5000 KB of space allocated even though that wasn't the case. So, I wonder whether this contributed to the problem. I'll try and test it out on another 2 virtual server that's are to be deleted and report back. Thanks. Best Wishes, PRODOS http://prodos.thinkertothinker.com "Boring updates on exciting projects." |

Hi Prodos, It sounds like there was still a MySQL 'db' table entry for the user. You can see these in the MySQL module of Webmin, on the Database Permissions page. If Virtualmin is creating this when you add a server but not removing them when you delete, that is a bug .. - Jamie -----Original Message----- From: "pr...@pr..." <pr...@pr...> Subj: [webmin-l] Error message: username or MySQL name already exist Date: Sat 4 Feb 2006 3:51 pm Size: 2K To: web...@li... From: Prodos Good morning. Last year I created a virtual sever: drupal.prodos.org (to test out the Drupal CMS program). Later I deleted that virtual server. Today I tried creating that same virtual server again, using the SAME username and database name as before. But I kept getting an error message, something like: "Unable to create this virtual server because the same username or MySQL database name already exists." (Sorry, I haven't got the exact wording because I then went ahead and created the site using a different username and database name and had no problems doing so.) At the time I was getting the error message I checked my list of MySQL servers. There was no database name of the same name as the one being rejected. Then I checked in "webmin users" and DID find the username listed. So I deleted it and tried again to create the virtual server with the same username and database name. Again I got the same error message! Can anyone tell me why this error message still popped up even though there was no MySQL server of the same name and the username had been deleted? Does WEBMIN store these usernames somewhere else within its system? Is there something else I have to delete in order to be able to use that username again? It doesn't pose any problem to just choose a different username/database name, but I'd like to understand my WEBMIN better and to make sure I'm deleting servers correctly. Thanks for any assistance or tips on this issue! Best Wishes, PRODOS http://prodos.thinkertothinker.com "Boring updates on exciting projects." |

That's a good point .. I didn't think of that case. In the next Webmin release, if you click the Apply button at the zone level and the zone hasn't been loaded by BIND yet, it will do a full reconfigure, just as if you clicked the Apply button on the main page. - Jamie On Sat, 2006-02-04 at 01:01, ax...@ax... wrote: > Yes that is true for a single server. > > I create the zone bindtest.com with 3 default entries. Yes that is true for a single server. I create the zone bindtest.com with 3 default entries. After pressing the "apply changes" the zone file does indeed get created. After the zone file is created though, the master sends notifies to my sl= aves. They in turn respond with "not authoritive" as they do not have a copy of= the zone file yet and cannot check the SOA entry. The 'Apply Changes' button on the zone page should actually work even after the zone has just been created although. It first tries to do an ndc reload whatever.com , but if that fails it will run ndc reconfig which should tell BIND to re-read the entire config file, and thus pick up the new domain. - Jamie |

Hi Jamie, When I create a new virtual site in Virtualmin and the click on the button to - Manage SSL Certificate - then enter the details to generate a CSR and Private Key and set the RSA Key size to Custom then enter 1024 or anything but apart from default it just seems to generate the default certificate size and ignore the custom setting specified. Hi Frank, I thought I fixed that SSL cert size problem in Webmin 1.260 ... but maybe not. Which exact page are you seeing this on? - Jamie On Fri, 2006-02-03 at 20:51, Frank Hutcheon wrote: > Cheers Jamie. > > I actually upgraded another machine and was offered the updated module > as part of that and got the machine I had probs with sorted. > > Any word on the custom SSL certificate fix? > > Cheers, > > Frank > > > -----Original Message----- > From: web...@li... > [mailto:web...@li...] On Behalf Of Jamie > Cameron > Sent: 03 February 2006 09:05 > To: web...@li... > Subject: Re: [webmin-l] SSL Certs and Start on Boot Options > > Hi Frank, > There was a change in Webmin 1.260 that causes this problem with bootup > actions on some Linux variants. Hello Jamie Thanks for your update to the ACL for the Bind Module. I have not been able to try it out yet as my master server uses Gentoo and I have to wait for the devs to catch up and build an ebuild. I have another request/query. For a master Zone, is it possible to hide the button "apply changes" (for that zone) until the zone file is created using the button "apply changes" in the zone file list section. For example when creating a new zone, a user can easily be confused and click the "apply changes" button thinking that his zone will be created. Apply changes will send a notify to the slaves, but they will respond with "not authoritve for that zone" and create an empty zone file or something similar. At the moment it is a bit awkward to teach the users that they cannot press "apply changes" after creating a new master zone, and have to instead go back to the Bind module index to press "apply changes" there instead so that the zone file gets created and pushed to the slave servers. I believe this will also be the case for a standalone DNS server also. Thanks for listening. . |

Cheers Jamie. I actually upgraded another machine and was offered the updated module as part of that and got the machine I had probs with sorted. Any word on the custom SSL certificate fix? Cheers, Frank -----Original Message----- From: web...@li... [mailto:web...@li...] On Behalf Of Jamie Cameron Sent: 03 February 2006 09:05 To: web...@li... Subject: Re: [webmin-l] SSL Certs and Start on Boot Options Hi Frank, There was a change in Webmin 1.260 that causes this problem with bootup actions on some Linux variants. However, an updated module is available at http://www.webmin.com/updates.html to fix it .. - Jamie -----Original Message----- From: "Frank Hutcheon" <fr...@we...> Subj: [webmin-l] SSL Certs and Start on Boot Options Date: Fri 3 Feb 2006 12:57 am Size: 985 bytes To: <web...@li...> Hi all, I just built a new box with Centos 4.2 and Webmin 1.260 and am having problems setting Bootup and Shutdown actions to save. I click the items I want to enable on boot i.e httpd / mysqld etc and it says Enabling action xxxx on boot but it doesn't actually change it for some reason. Anyone have any ideas what might be up? Also did the custom SSL cert size fix make it into this release? I tried generating a new cert but it still just generated the default size for me.
