Hi Hamid,
You are correct, I overlooked the case where Webmin or Virtualmin restarts
Apache ... this will be fixed in the next release.

Hi Frank, There was a change in Webmin 1.260 that causes this problem with bootup actions on some Linux variants. However, an updated module is available at http://www.webmin.com/updates.html to fix it .. - Jamie -----Original Message----- From: "Frank Hutcheon" <fr...@we...> Subj: [webmin-l] SSL Certs and Start on Boot Options Date: Fri 3 Feb 2006 12:57 am Size: 985 bytes To: <web...@li...> Hi all, I just built a new box with Centos 4.2 and Webmin 1.260 and am having problems setting Bootup and Shutdown actions to save. Jamie,
I beleive that in some cases this problem happened again also after
Webmin version 1.260 . before this version if you restart the apache
from the webmin the variables passed to the new httpd but in this
version this only happen if you make a new virtual host in your
virutalmin . but if you restart the httpd from the webmin itself the
variables gone ! can you please check into it to see if this problem
already exist or this is only my problem ?!

I upgraded to 1.260 before actually playing with the certmgr plugin. I suspect this is a an older problem though. When I go into the module config and try to edit the "OpenSSL Configuration File" I get the following error: Can't locate ./custom-lib.pl in @INC (@INC contains: /usr/local/webmin /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.7/i486-linux /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.7 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.7/i486-linux /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.7 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.6 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.4 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl .) at /usr/local/webmin/certmgr/edit_file.cgi line 5. however, locate tells me this file lives under /usr/local/webmin/custom. Is this a bug or something else I need to configure first? =G= |

If, in the command line shell, I perform the command "mysqldump
--net_buffer_length=4k ......" everything is OK, and I can restore back the
file
Is it a way to add the parameter into the webmin-->mysql module config ?

Hi all,
I am having a problem in doing a backup /restore operation in a mysql
database.
The backup was created using webmin.
The database was about 75 MB in size.
The problem is that the file created has about 75 rows of 1 MB length, and
I am not able to execute back the script, both
to the same server or to another server, neither via webmin nor via command
line, neither in linux nor in windows.
The error is always the same: the row is too long, and the row is truncated
and the sql gives the error:
ERROR 1136 (21S01) at line 48: Column count doesn't match value count at
row 74
I also tried a visual query tool, Mysql query Browser, and the result is
the same.
Is it possible to do something in order to make the backup to produce
smaller rows ?? I see that the limit
(my limit, perhaps it could be tuned via my.ini....) is about 10000 bytes
per insert statement
By the way, on the same machine I can upload via java into another database
blob fields up to 1 GB
(I changed the max_allowed_packet=1024M)
I tried to watch at the webmin MySql module configuration, but I didn't see
any option there
Any help will be greatly appreciated,
thanks in advance
Andrea

Hi Len,
You are absolutely correct .. the index filename should be based on the
complete mail file name, rather than just the last part. I will make
this change in the next Usermin release.

I think I can see the cause of this problem - Webmin is configured to add new BIND zones to /etc/named.conf.local , but there is no directive in /etc/named.conf to include this file. The quick fix is to click on the Module Config link, and change the 'Add new zones to file' option to 'Default'. - Jamie On Wed, 2006-02-01 at 00:57, Rodney Richison wrote: > It's not like I don't muck around with this every day at work, but here, > on my home network, I'm having trouble with the bind module. > > I'm sure it's something simple. That's what I thought the problem might be .. the next release of Webmin will fix this by handling .exe commands in PATH properly. - Jamie On Wed, 2006-02-01 at 06:52, Enrique Toledano wrote: > The message is (as you expected): > > Failed to install uploaded module : The tar command, needed for > extracting Webmin modules, was not found on your system > > There's also some problem in the "Choose File" dialog. Jamie,
I've noticed a problem with the ReadMail module. If you have "treat mailbox subdirectories as" set to "subdirectories" and a user, say in order to keep forwarded email messages from other servers organized, has the following folder structure:
Inbox
Sentmail
Drafts
Yahoo\inbox
Yahoo\savedmail
Hotmail\inbox
Hotmail\savedmail
when the user switches from "Yahoo\inbox" to "Hotmail\inbox" (ie: an actual mailbox file with the same name, different path) the index listing for one or the other folder gets corrupted. I noticed that the routine called user_index_file() (found in file boxes-lib.pl) returns an index file name to be used by the ReadMail module for the index caching information. This routine produces identical filenames for the above scenario.
A possible fix, which I've implemented in my install is to change the subroutine to the following:
# user_index_file(user|file)
sub user_index_file
{
local $us = $_[0];
$us =~ s/\//_/g;
local $subpath = ((length($_[0]) > length($folders_dir)) && (index($_[0], $folders_dir) == 0)) ? substr($_[0], length($folders_dir)+1) : "";
if (length($subpath))
{
$subpath =~ s/\//\./g;
}
local $f = $_[0] =~ /^\/.*\/([^\/]+)$/ ?
($user_module_config_directory ?
(length($subpath) ?
"$user_module_config_directory/$subpath.findex" :
"$user_module_config_directory/$1.findex") :
"$module_config_directory/$us.findex") :
$user_module_config_directory ?
"$user_module_config_directory/$_[0].index" :
"$module_config_directory/$_[0].index";
local $hn = &get_system_hostname();
return -r $f && !-r "$f.$hn" ? $f : "$f.$hn";
}
The generated index file name now includes the subpath (below the users mailbox_dir) as part of the name. I haven't tested the scenario which fails the REGEXP in the ternary operator, so I'm not 100% sure if this is safe, but it looks safe to me.
Opinions? Corrections?

Hi again, This time I'll try it from scratch on a test server. From scratch, I'm trying to configure mod_ssl into Apache 1.3.31 I've run the configure ( less the call to the apache source because it's an RPM install) and end up with the following: /usr/libexec/apache/libssl.so /etc/apache/mod_ssl.conf and the following: (I uncommeted the include) ************** # By default, all external Apache modules are disabled. To enable a particular # module for Apache, make sure the necessary packages are installed. Then # uncomment the appropriate Include line below, save the file, and restart # Apache. Note that some modules may need additional configuration steps. For # example, mod_ssl requires a site certificate which you may need to generate. # # Lastly, if you remove a module package, be sure to edit this file and comment # out the appropriate Include line. # ==> mod_ssl configuration settings <== # # PACKAGES REQUIRED: apache (N series) and openssl (N series) # Include /etc/apache/mod_ssl.conf ************************************************************* When, in webmin, I try to configure mod_ssl in reconfigure know mods I end up with mod_apachessl in the apache modules module. There is no mod_apachessl module so restart and apply fail. When I directly add mod_ssl to the configuration nothing shows up in the module except mod_apachessl. When I turn on SSL for the test server I get the following error: Warning: Group directive in requires SUEXEC wrapper. Syntax error on line 1124 of /etc/apache/httpd.conf: Invalid command 'SSLEnable', perhaps mis-spelled or defined by a module not included in the server configuration /usr/sbin/apachectl start: httpd could not be started I guess is it even possible to engage SSL without the Apache source available? Thanks, Dan |

It's not like I don't muck around with this every day at work, but here, on my home network, I'm having trouble with the bind module. I'm sure it's something simple. I've a local server behind my firewall. Bind works as expected. However, when I try to create a master, it creates it, then shows the page to change the records, yet when I click on something like a or nameserver record. I get a page that is pretty much blank, with no input boxes and the word "in" in the middle of the page. The strange thing is, I reproduce the error on my local machine. Both machines running debian. Both machines upgraded to the latest greatest webmin and bind modules. That's why I'm sure I'm missing something simple. Ideas? BTW, I can then cancel out, and no master zone has been created "according to webmin". However, if I then try to create it again, I get the message "already exists". Looking at /etc/bind, I see it does exist in named.conf.local and the zone file exists. So it's though webmin creates it, yet cannot edit it?? Or see it??? Bind is on debian stable. Things I've tried, purge bind, remove webmin module, upgrade webmin... I'm out of ideas at the moment. ????? -- Highest Regards, Rodney Richison RCR Computing http://www.rcrnet.net 118 N. Hi, I'm using webmin to manage shorewall, and I have a probem while displaying the rules. Actually, webmin is displaying the "Zone Type" field in the source zone, instead of displaying the zone ID. But because the zones are all "IPV4" type, it is impossible to know from which zone to which other zone your want the rule applied. I'm using webmin 1.260 and shorewall 3.0.4, which are the latest stable version. I believe this is a bug, correct me if I'm wrong. Bruno Leon. Hi, I've created a couple of server aliases to resolve to the parent server website. But instead they default to the first name-based server listed on Apache. I changed the root directory in Apache on each to point to the proper root directory and they still resolve the first name-based server. The email resolves properly any ideas? Webmin 1.250, Apache 1.3.31, Virtualmin 2.610 on Slackware 10.0. Thanks, |
