Hi Ryan,
If logging is workign properly, you should see each packet that
goes via xl0 logged to /var/log/bandwidth. This file then gets
periodically truncated and summarized into the /etc/webmin/bandwidth/hours
directory, so that it can be viewed in the Bandwidth Module.

Is anything being written to /var/log/bandwidth on your system?

Versiosn since about 1.000 have this feature in the Upgrade Webmin
sub-module.  There's a checkbox for "Don't re-install missing modules"
or along those lines.  Which means it only installs/updates already
installed modules.

Would it be feasable to add an option to the Webmin/Usermin "Update" module, 
that when upgrading is done, it only updates currently installed modules?

ps thank for all your help Jamie hope i am not 
being to bothersome.  Webmin is great it was way 
to much for me at first, where to begin i was 
overwelmed it could do everything for me.  At the 
same time I could see how much time and patients 
it was going to take.  With your help it is 
turning out to be a life saver i mean clicking 
create virtual domain and watching virtual min do 
everything for me makes me smile ear to ear THANKS.

[webmin-l] problems with perl and webmin

Hi,

Just recently I've been getting some nice perl errors when trying to access
some pages in webmin (Version 1.260 Debian Linux 3.0)

Error - Perl execution failed

Perl lib version (v5.8.8) doesn't match executable version (v5.8.7) at
/usr/lib/perl/5.8/Config.pm line 46.
Compilation failed in require at /usr/share/perl/5.8/Time/Local.pm line 5.
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /usr/share/perl/5.8/Time/Local.pm line
5.
Compilation failed in require at /usr/share/perl/5.8/timelocal.pl line 16.
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /usr/share/perl/5.8/timelocal.pl line
16.

Can anyone help me fix this?

What error message are you getting exactly? It seems to have been left

The answer was that AWstats cannot handle wildcard log files as far as I know.

Hello again all have one more question then i will layoff for awhile 
when i try to activate webalizer and logrotate on my virtual hosts i get 
these errors


Naturally i checked my apache httpd.conf file and found these are  these 
not the derictives i need?

I copy log files from one server to another, and if for some reason, the =
awstat run isn't done for a given day, I'll end up with two log files.. t=

Check that the file /etc/awstats/awstats.model.conf exists on your system=
=2E
That is the template AWstats config that gets copied for new domains..

Are these mailbox users, or domain owner users? There are separate settings
for skeleton directories for each, and the one of the server template page
only applies to new domain owners.

It certainly should have!
You are using FreeBSD there, right? If you go to the IPFW module, does it 
show logging rules created by the Bandwidth Module? Can you create other rules
that take effect?

[webmin-l] PID files mass deletion

Hi

i am having issues with Dovecot on FC3 locking files. under Running
processes there are around 50 PID's on 1 user for POP3 processes. Some go
back to 29 March.
now the odd process is procmail which i guess is stuck due to the lock
preceding it.

i was hoping i could select all the non procmail PID's under this user and
delete them?

i appreciate this is not a webmin issue as such but is there a way to remove
all the dead pop3 processes under the 1 user?

I have posted to dovecot list to find a solution to the file locking.

I use FreeBSD religously, and installed it from the ports system.  I have recently had to use some linux distros "fedora" and there yum stuff is miles behind IMO freebsd is the greatest. 

Pretty sure that the default page used to work ok as i made some changes to it in the recent past.  Wounder if this has to do with my other external view settings not sticking the do seem very related.

your not going to believe this (I dont) but i just tried again, and the default template saved fine. WTF

Including the external zone setting and copying the /etc/skel that i started another post about.  Not sure if i should be angry or happy spent alot of time trying to figure that out and now it just works.  

there was some gobbly gok in my the email template field not sure what it is all about something got scrambled somewhere

[webmin-l] bandwidth monitoring

Hello again all i have another question i cannot get my bandwidth module to work either with webmin or with virtual webmin.  I turned it on in both and set the type to ipfirewall in the bandwidth module config but it always states there is no data collected.

ps it has been on for a month should be some data by now?

[webmin-l] /etc/skel not getting added

I have the settings in my edit server template set to use the /etc/skel but it is not added to the users home dir.

Did you install Virtualmin from www.webmin.com , or from some other source, such
as the Debian package?

I don't think AWstats supports that unfortunately .. but anyone else should
feel free to correct me if I am wrong :)
