Was really weird the other day when I did a mass-upgrade of all my webmin/usermin servers. I did check each one afterwards and found it had done the upgrades. Whew. I might go poking through the code and see if I can spot what is happening. Never know, maybe a fresh pair of glasses will spot something. I have several servers in a cluster and it seems to be working ok except when I do a cluster upgrade. Then each server returns that it failed to upgrade (but it actually doesn't) is this just "one of those things (tm)" or something I have configured incorrectly? Thanks for the info - I will update the next Webmin release to
handle this format. In the short term, you can edit the file mon/mon-lib.pl
under the Webmin root directory, and change line 16 to :
'failure_interval', 'redistribute' ],

Here's a snippet of my mon config (posted below).
=20
The man output for the redistribute option is:
=20
redistribute alert [arg...]
A service may have one redistribute option, which is a special form
of an alert definition.
This alert will be called on every service status update, even
sequential success status
updates. This can be used to integrate Mon with another monitoring
system, or to link together
multiple Mon servers via an alert script that generates Mon traps.
See the "ALERT PROGRAMS"
section above for a list of the parameters mon will pass
automatically to alert programs.
=20
So basically, I'm using the command "redistribute trap.alert
mainmonitor" to send whatever the=20
latest status check (via trap.alert) is for each of my services to my
main monitoring server
(with a hostname of mainmonitor).

Hi Tim,
This looks like a bug in Webmin, caused by a new directive in the mon
configuration file that it cannot handle yet. If you could send me your
mon.cf file, I'd be glad to update Webmin to fix it..

Hello, all.
=20
I'm using the standard mon module to try to administer a configuration
we've setup here. One problem that I've run into is that the webmin mon
module does not like the "redistribute" option currently implemented - I
get the error :
=20
Unknown directive redistribute
=20
When I try to pull up of the config screens within webmin.
=20
Is there a maintainer for this module I can contact, or is that Jamie
himself? If I open up the code in a hex editor, I see his name there,
but I wanted to try this list first.

Thanks,
Tim

I have a few questions about this function in the Sendmail module (i.e. Spam Control). I thought I read somewhere, or perhaps someone told me, that MailScanner will also read from this module to remove or block spam, even when Sendmail is not "turned on" (it being run by MailScanner). Is this true? Thanks, MW |

Hi Usermin 1.220 on FC3 a user has come across a problem. see below customer part 1 "since the 12th Select All.Delete does not work and all spam messages remain in the folder." me "i need as much details step by step so i can contact the author. what happens if you delete less mails" customer part 2 "On either Page 1 or 2 (0-20 or 21-33 in this case), when I Select all>Delete I get a blank page. Going back, the selection remains, but nothing has changed. If I select up to 5 individually, I get a confirmation dialogue and Delete button - all works fine. One or two more than 5 gets me a blue (page background colour - not the MS blue screen!) screen and nothing changes - any more and it's a blank screen as before. Doing 5 at a time, I have deleted all." me "is the blank page a white M$ page?" customer part 3 "It was a blank within the frame of the usermin page." Any ideas Mark |

Hi Craig, I think the cause of this problem is an in-consistency between LDAP schemas on various systems as to the attribute used for the given name. I added code that is supposed to handle either case, but from looking at it just now I found a bug :( To fix it, you can edit the file file ldap-useradmin/save_user.cgi under the Webmin root directory, and change lines 745 and 746 so that they use "givenName" instead of "gn". - Jamie |

Probably a router or some such between you and the site was down. If this happens again, you can try "traceroute www.sitename.com" to see where the last good hop is. Generally you can figure out just who is responsible with some judicious tracerouting.
