I wouldn't mind hosting this - please email the .wbm.gz file to me directly, and I'll update the link on the third-party modules site. - Jamie |

It seems as though Eugene Borodin has gotten lost and his web link for the apcupsd webmin module has been inoperable for quite some time. I do have a copy of the last downloaded version that I got from his web site apcupsd-0.81-2.wbm.gz if anyone needs it or wants to host it for others to download. Obviously it isn't maintained but it's very functional. Craig |

1. Would it be possible to order the icons in modules alphabetically, or to add an option to do this? For instance, it always takes me a few minutes to find the "Authentication" icon in the Webmin Configuration module as it is in the middle of the third column. The icons for modules are already listed in alphabetical order by title on each category page. It's just the icons inside the modules that are in seemingly random order. Or, if a module is split into sections, to have the icons in each section alphabetised. (I'm a little jaded from having to use IBM's WebSphere Portal at work where everything -- drop-down lists, icons, links, user/group lists -- is in random order and it takes ages to find/do anything.) 2. Would it be possible to add a "Webmin Servers" link to the main category pages? This link is visible when in a module, but not when on the category pages. Adds an extra click to return to the Webmin Servers Index page. I have a copy of Webmin running on my local workstation. The cluster modules are configured with 50-odd remote Webmin servers. When I login to the local Webmin, go into the Webmin Servers Index, I can connect to a remote server. When I click on a module on that remote server, I get a list of links: Webmin Servers (takes me back to the local webmin), Webmin Index (takes me to the index page of the remote webmin), Module Config (takes me to the config page of the module on the remote webmin). If possibly, having that Webmin Servers link on the main category pages would really improve the flow of navigation when using the cluster modules and remote webmin. Keep up the good work, Webmin is an amazing piece of software. -- Freddie Cash, LPIC-2 CCNT CCLP Network Support Technician School District 73 (250) 377-HELP [377-4357] fca...@sd... |

For example, the file controlling which modules are available is /etc/usermin/webmin.acl . But as others have said, this is easier with Webmin. - Jamie |

Hi David, David Obando schrieb: > can't I manage usermin in a shell? you could try that, but configuring Usermin through Webmin is easier. Just install Webmin and configure Webmin not to start automatically but o= nly=20 if needed. Thus you start it with /etc/init.webmin start from shell (as root) to configure things for Usermin and to stop it you c= an=20 do it either from Webmin or from shell (as root) with /etc/init.d/webmin stop. If you have 2 drives in the machine Fedora will list it in the partitioni= ng sheme during the install. I am not sure exactly where it is but you should chose advanced partition= ing or something like that. Otherwise use this nice page. http://www.linuxhomenetworking.com/wiki/index.php/Quick_HOWTO_:_Ch26_:_Li= nux_Software_RAID Other than just google what you need, theres always someone who has done = what you are trying to do. I have never used the raid module in webmin so I ca= nt comment on it. Webmin isnt dependant on the country you are in. I am using webmin to hos= t close to 1000 active domains, about 300 of these domains are AU based. I use 4 machines, 1 in each country, bind 9.3.x and webmin. Thats all you= need really. Does this answer your question? If you have a single machine I suggest creating a raid1 using 2 drives. You may be better off just configuring Usermin to talk to your IMAP server, and fetch all folders through that. This can be done in Webmin, under Usermin Configuration -> Usermin Module Configuration -> Read Mail. - Jamie > Thanks for your time! > > Caleb > > Jamie Cameron wrote: > > On 10/Oct/2006 18:49 Caleb Flynn wrote .. > > > >> Hi, > >> > >> I'm using Webmin 1.300 and Usermin 1.190, and I'm having problems > >> getting Usermin to save sent mail to the correct location. Thanks for your quick response. I wasn't actually clear about the situation. I'm using IMAP and trying to save to the .Sent as individual messages similar to how a mail client would. Isn't the lock file only necessary for mbox? I did try your suggestions, but get the same error message. I feel like I'm missing something fundamental. Thanks for your time! You should try removing any sentmail.lock file, and trying to send again - most likely some other process has a lock on that file. To change where Usermin writes sent mail, click on the Manage Folders button at the bottom of the mail list, and then on the sent mail folder. - Jamie |

Hi, I'm using Webmin 1.300 and Usermin 1.190, and I'm having problems getting Usermin to save sent mail to the correct location. I keep getting this message: [error] Sending mail to som...@so... .. Failed to send mail : Failed to lock file /path/to/my/Maildir/sentmail after 5 minutes Of course, I'm using a valid email address, and the message is received by the recipient. So my question is where can I change the configuration to save the message to ~/Maildir/.Sent? BTW I'm using Postfix and Dovecot. Thanks, Caleb |

It's possible .. the FTP transfer connection could start, but no data would get transferred. In fact, if that happens intermittantly for the same backup, I would suspect network issues. - Jamie |

If you execute one of these backup jobs from within Webmin, what is the full output that gets displayed? If the FTP connection is failing, I would expect some kind of error message to be displayed by the dump/tar command or the FTP client program they call.. - Jamie |

hello, could someone please send a working /etc/webmin/burner/config file with /dev/hdc or /dev/hdd as devices here? as written, my burner autodetection stalls at my tape device, so as a workaround i would like to use an existing config, thanks, PAT |
