I was getting timeouts and when it worked, awful speeds. But if no one else noticed anything, it was probably just me :) -joho |

Hi Guys, I have CentOS 7 on which Webmin is installed I need to make below changes to make it customisation and really would appreciate if someone can help? 1. Change the Webmin logo which is appearing on login page as well as as on a side bar once logged in. 2. I need to add one Hpyper Link on a left hand sidebar for the server which is running on same server i.e. http://127.0.0.1:5601 i.e Reporting ==> http://127.0.0.1:5601 |

Does Webmin support the concept of "Shorewall Accounting"? /etc/shorewall/accounting I'm sure I could get it working "manually" somehow, but I don't want any manual hacks to be overwritten when I click apply in Webmin :) http://shorewall.org/Accounting.html http://shorewall.org/manpages/shorewall-accounting.html -joho |

See if you have lots and lots of entries in the ".well-known/acme-challenge" folder. I had one of these, probably 200 entries in there, killed the entire tree (.well-known/ and below) and it fixed it. > -----Original Message----- > From: Jamie Cameron [mailto:jca...@we...] > Sent: Sunday, December 03, 2017 5:36 PM > To: Webmin users list > Subject: Re: [webmin-l] Let's Encrypt Failure > > Someone else reported this error as well, however I've been unable to > re-produce it or determine why it could happen! Someone else reported this error as well, however I've been unable to re-produce it or determine why it could happen! The distribution is in the subject, Ubuntu 16.04.LTS The underlying firewall service is ... IPTABLES ... and typically, Webmin needs to do a iptables-restore ... This is a setting in Webmin (activate at boot time). When this problem occurs, that setting is switched back to "No" in the Webmin interface. -joho On 11/13/2017 07:42 PM, Kris Deugau wrote: > > For most services, Webmin just configures the underlying service; it > doesn't actively manage the service on an ongoing basis. > > In theory you should be able to install a system, install Webmin, > configure to taste, then uninstall Webmin - and your configured > services should continue to work as configured. > > Which distribution is this? For most services, Webmin just configures the underlying service; it doesn't actively manage the service on an ongoing basis. In theory you should be able to install a system, install Webmin, configure to taste, then uninstall Webmin - and your configured services should continue to work as configured. Which distribution is this? Chances are you'll have to dig in to the underlying firewall service setup to find out why the "activate on boot" change Webmin is making isn't sticking. -kgd |

This site was previously called new.thedomain.com, could Virtualmin have gotten confused? -joho |

Backup is partially complete. Final size was 9.33 GB. Total backup time was 13 minutes, 51 seconds. Virtual servers that failed : thedomain.com Sent by Virtualmin at: https://server55.mydomain.com:10000 What follows is a list of sites that went well, and then, unfortunately, our ticketing system truncates the e-mail text at some arbitrary size limit. But my point is that I think the reason for the failure should be stated after or below the domain(s) that failed. -joho |

On a VPS with Linode, I see that on every reboot, Webmin fails to restore the IPTABLES configuration. When I go to Network -> Linux firewall, the "Activate on boot" is reset back to "No". I have to re-enable it, and then click on "apply configuration" and then it's back. Seems like Webmin should be able to figure out how to insert itself into the start-up of things. If nothing else, when Webmin is automatically started (which it is, that part works) upon system startup. (Webmin 1.860) -joho |

Hi, one can avoid the "Failed to lock mail file" error message by disabling "Check for POP3 lock files" in the Usermin Module Configuration for the "read mail" module. But I wonder if you do not get any problems by disabling that POP3 lock file check? Hello, I included a mboxfile with server-sided filtered spam mails via the "managed folder" functionality of Usermin. By help of procmail and Spamassassig junk mails are moved into that spam mboxfile. The spam messages in that mbox file are listed correctly! That is what I want Usermin use for: To check the serversided filtered spam messages in order not to miss any important false positives! Problem: Trying to "move/copy" a message (false positive) from those spam messages to the "inbox" (i. e. a false positive) always results in following error message: *Failed to move mail : Failed to lock mail file /var/mail/inbox after trying for 5 minutes, due to a POP3 lock file.* Simultaneously being locked in via SFTP I can see that Usermin obviously succeeds in creating an inbox.lock file where the inbox-file is located. But why does the error message mentioned above appear? Any ideas how to solve the problem? Maybe the problem has to do with the permissions/ownership of the generated inbox.lock (660 and Owner: username:mail). Thanks and best regards userminitestit --- Diese E-Mail wurde von Avast Antivirus-Software auf Viren geprüft. https://www.avast.com/antivirus |

Hello, Needing to setup DKIM key for a virtual server in the Virtualmin/ServerConfig/DomainKeyOptions, I see that I can use the "global default key". Where is this "global default key" on Webmin? Unable to find anything in the Webmin various menus :( I already setup a few domains with this but my memory fails and I am unable now to remember where this global key is :((( Thank you! |

All is good now. I did a wipe of the server, reinstall of the OS etc. and then a fresh install of virtualmin. I then rebooted the server and virtualmin is good to go. Thanks.
