I had a look at this, and discovered that all it took was a tiny bugfix
to get this working properly! The patch can be seen at :

Maybe a firewall is blocking incoming traffic to port 25 ?

Virtualmin Email works just fine.

Please verify your install.  From the virualmin menu (using Authentic Theme) hit the "System Settings - Re-Check Configuration" and also hit Re-Run install Wizard.  

If it still fails, hit "Limits and Validation - Validate Virtual Servers", then Validate now.  

By now, you should see your problem, and be able to fix it.

[webmin-l] Virtualmin Email Doesn't Work

I have two different servers; one on a VPS, one on a dedicated server, 
both using CentOS 7 and Virutalmin and on both servers emails don't 
work.  This is a Virtualmin issue.  Both servers if I try to send an 
email to a user the emails just disappear.  They don't bounce back, they 
don't show up in the user's inbox, they just disappear.  Furthermore, 
the whole send email client configuration doesn't work; I even checked 
forwarding.  The email client configuration does not show up either on 
the server or the forward email.  Now on one server I can get 
thunderbird to connect and pull the mail settings and on the other it 
can't.  However, on the server that does, it keeps telling me that the 
password is wrong even when I added it manually in sight and copy and 
past into Thunderbird.  Is it the default settings in firewalld that 
Virtualmin creates?  I don't know.  What I do know is that I have two 
servers with Virtualmin where emails don't work and if emails don't 
work, then Virtualmin has to be discarded as valid options for control 
panels

Now on a third server that just has webmin; no virtualmin, I have emails 
working, they come in and show up in the user's inbox. That server I 
manually configured everything but it only has one real domain for the 
mail server.

If there is some magical tutorial on setting up Virtualmin to use 
multiple domains with one mail server to get it all working, please show 
me that because I haven't found it.

[webmin-l] usermin email problem

Running usermin with postfix, mysql and dovecot. I'm unable to receive email
sent to a usermin user at their virtual domain. I am able to send to them at
the server hostname however. What's not configured right? Thank you in

OK, I have been having connection issues with Virtualmin.  I was working 
on a Virtual server, made some changes, and VM went though updating 
everything and then it stated restarting webmin but it didn't.  So I 
issue the command to start it at the command line; if I am using the 
correct command.  Still no go.  There has been times when I would get a 
pop-up that connection lost and then it would be OK.  The server is 
fine, I can shell in and work so this is a webmin issue.  At the moment 
I can't load Virtualmin to finish the work; the browser reports unable 
to connect.  Any ideas here folks?  and yes, I did drop the firewall to 
see if port 10000 was blocked.

[webmin-l] usermin email problem

Yes, that makes a lot of sense .. I'll look into adding this.

Yeah, this kind of migration isn't really supported currently. However, it should at least end up with a domain that has everything except Nginx enabled..Did you get any error messages during the migration process?

Well, this is actually server that has been transferred from one 
Virtualmin to another Virtualmin from inside Virtualmin.

So the logs are there, but they are symlinks.

I can't quite see why it should fail.

Exactly.
/var/log/virtualmin/ is in setup, but it looks for configuration about
/home/html/domain.com/logs/
Seems like you have something wrong in your configuration.

But when I look at the log file rotation setup in Webmin, 
Virtualmin/Webmin have created a symlink which points to 
/var/log/virtualmin/domain.com... logs. And they are in the log file 
rotation setup.

It matters if you select mog_php or CGI.
Slightly different features will be available to the running scripts.
Said that, I strongly advise against plain CGI. It's a performance hog under
any serious load.

Virtualmin; I noticed that Virtualmin alone installed MariaDB 5.5 and I 
figured I would first set up MariaDB before installing Virtualmin.

After Virtualmin install and configuration I see the following:

The following PHP versions are available : 5.6.39 (/bin/php-cgi), 5.6.39 
(/bin/php56-cgi), 7.0.27 (/opt/rh/rh-php70/root/usr/bin/php-cgi), 5.6 
(mod_php)

Why are there so many different php 5.6 listed?

You can create a domain without email enabled in Virtualmin, and then limit the
permissions of the domain owner so that he cannot enable email afterwards. This
will prevent the "primary email address" from being enabled for users.
