Strange that, when I click on "Nginx" under "Servers" now, I get this: Error - Perl execution failed Can't locate virtualmin-nginx-lib.pl in @INC (@INC contains: /usr/share/webmin /etc/perl /usr/local/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/perl/5.26.1 /usr/local/share/perl/5.26.1 /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/perl5/5.26 /usr/share/perl5 /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/perl/5.26 /usr/share/perl/5.26 /usr/local/lib/site_perl /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/perl-base) at /usr/share/webmin/virtualmin-nginx/index.cgi line 6. virtualmin-nginx-lib.pl is, however, here: /usr/share/webmin/virtualmin-nginx/virtualmin-nginx-lib.pl -joho On 2019-06-29 09:07, Joaquim Homrighausen wrote: > > I did find this just now :) > > http://software.virtualmin.com/gpl/wbm/virtualmin-nginx-2.3.wbm.gz |

This sounds like an issue detecting the FPM packages. If you like :dpkg --list | grep fpmwhat does it output? On 29/Jun/2019 00:26 Joaquim Homrighausen <jo...@we...> wrote .. When doing a "Check and refresh Virtualmin configuration", I get this: "No PHP-FPM packages were found on this system." But PHP-FPM is very much available (/usr/sbin/php-fpm7.2), and running. It also says "The following PHP versions are available : 7.2.19 (/usr/bin/php7.2)" What did I do wrong? :) -joho |

The only one I found is this: http://www.webmin.com/cgi-bin/search_third.cgi?search=nginx "Plugin for Virtualmin/Webmin. Enable add/remove, disable sites to Nginx config", 2016-11 But it yields an error when I try to access it: "Error - Perl execution failed Unescaped left brace in regex is illegal here in regex; marked by <-- HERE in m/server { <-- HERE $/ at ./nginx-lib.pl line 199. Just installed Webmin "fresh" 1.910 on an Ubuntu 18.04.LTS system. I used a iptables.up.rules file from another fairly similar system with iptables-restore, but it didn't look quite right in Webmin. So then I used Webmin to "Reset firewall" and told it to use the "Block all except ports used for virtual hosting, on interface" defaults. Everything looked fine except for two "ACCEPT" rules that were at the beginning of the list. Their comments indicate that these were the rules to accept established/related. The only problem is that there were *no* paramters/conditions set for the rule(s), so they basically ended up being "blank ACCEPT" rules. I've never seen this in Webmin before, but I can repeat it at will by choosing to "reset firewall". -joho |

Hello Andrey! Which setting do you mean? There is "System Settings > Server Temaplates > Apache website >Directives and settings for new websites", but that only sets the the parameters inside the <Virtalhost> tag, but not the tag itself. Hello! I know that one can install virtualmin with Nginx support. I am just using webmin with nginx and I was wondering if there is a recommended plugin that can be used with a server that is just running webmin. I did do some searches but without any clear results in a module that is current. Therefore, is there a recommended niginx module for us that just run webmin? Thank you, -Kimberly |

The system may be configured with the Unattended upgrades service, which I've noticed it enabled by default when installing new systems. That would get in the way because as soon as the cache is updated, in some cases if there are any security updates, it downloads and installs those before anyone has a chance to do other stuff. If you're on a systemd system, look for unattended-upgrades.service. It might be enabled, and you should be able to stop it to get control again for the time being. Thanks for confirming. When webmin updates the package cache I can no longer hold the available packages against listbugs for a number of days before installing. I can work round this by pinning. If possible on webmin upgrade please could the parameter "Hours to cache updated and available packages" be enforced. Thanks, Bernie On 14/05/2019 03:38, Jamie Cameron wrote: > Currently, no - Webmin does an apt-get update to ensure that the latest > packages are installed. > > Actually I'm surprised to hear running apt-get update has any impact > on package update delay - I thought it just refreshed cached packages > and versions. > > On 13/May/2019 11:04 Bernie Elbourn <ber...@gm...> wrote .. >> Howdy, >> >> I run automated updates with a 6 day delay to get the best out of apt-listbugs. >> >> On Tuesday apt-get update refreshes the packages. Howdy, I run automated updates with a 6 day delay to get the best out of apt-listbugs. On Tuesday apt-get update refreshes the packages. On the next Monday two "apt-get upgrade" run. The first sorts out listbugs pinning, and second applies sane updates. This week I notice webmin was updated to 1.910 on the first apt-get update. On the second apt-get upgrade 27 other packages were updated. I am guessing that the webmin upgrade refreshed the package list. Fair enough but are there settings to control and disable "apt-get update" when webmin is upgraded? I do already have Webmin > System > Software Package Updates check for updates on a schedule turned off. Hours to cache updated and available packages for: 168 Huge thanks, Bernie /log... Sourceforge release is the official one - github contains a bunch of older modules, and if you download the whole tar.gz from github you'll find it hasn't been packaged properly. Hello, The code of webmin is hosted at github. But when you go to www.webmin.com the downloads are linked to sourceforge. http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/webadmin/webmin-1.910.tar.gz But I also see that releases are made on github too. https://github.com/webmin/webmin/releases There is huge difference in tar.gz downloaded from github and from sourceforge. Some files exist only in github release and some files exist only in sourceforge release. Github release seem to be smaller in size but seems to have more modules. Can someone shed the light on what exactly is different and which would be right one for packaging? Which one is really official and complete? Thank you, Amish. |
