I have a virtual server where in the PHP versions for the virtual server has two Default HTML directory listings. I am unable to check the box to the left and remove one. I don't know if this will cause any issues. How can it be repaired? |

I just wanted to throw my 2 cents in here. I would strongly suggest you follow the install instructions provided for virtualmin at least one time to see what it looks like before you do what you have done here. The setup of PHP is very specifically handled using "non-standard" methods that are accepted by the community, but not really the way you are trying to do it here. Your system before the installation of Virtualmin should have nothing on it except the OS. You should run the setup script for your OS. Then perhaps things will make way more sense to you. After you have a working system, wedge in your changes, testing as you go, and you probably will be able to do what you want. I set up a new server and before I install Virutalmin I install certain things that I want on the server, my version of Postfix, my version of Dovecot, my version of MariaDB and my version of PHP. Then I install Virtualmin. One of the things I want is to install php 5.6.40 before I install Virtualmin. Now, after I get the server set up and run the configuration check, I don't see php 5.6.40 listed; I don't see it listed under the server templates. Does Virtualmin remove php versions when it is installed? If so, why? Is it because php has to be installed in a certain manner/location for Virtualmin? |

I am not asking for a patch to be handed to me. What I am asking is what I need to do to get this working? This is affecting all users of Virtualmin using Let's Encrypt so if there are files I need to rip out, or make changes to, please let me know so I can get my servers compliant. I am trying to move from an old server to a new one and I can't. Hello, new install of Virtualmin; webmin version 1.930, virtualmin version 6.07, Authentic theme version 19.39-2 I can't seem to import a database using the execute sql tool. This has always worked before. The backup was created through the webmin back up database tool. The database server is MariaDB 10.4.8 ERROR 1005 (HY000) at line 25 in file: '/tmp/.webmin/615134_24439_1_exec_file.cgi': Can't create table `********`.`********` (errno: 122 "Internal (unspecified) error in handler") |

Hello, on a new install of Virtualmin; webmin version 1.930, virtualmin version 6.07, Authentic theme version 19.39-2, when using the file manager the left side directory tree does not load and I just have the spinning icon. The right side pane does load and I can navigate using it. |

I have 2 scheduled backups 1. Webmin -> Backup Configuration Files 2. System -> File System Backup They both create tgz files I do a nightly rsync from our CentOS server to my Windows 10 PC I can open the "File System Backup" archive on my PC no problem, but the for the " Backup Configuration Files" archive I get "access denied" Wondering why the permissions are different? I prefer the more lax permission structure for the archive. Any way to change this? ᐧ ᐧ |

In the virtualmin post setup wizard I get this message: To prevent other users on your system from managing the MySQL database, a password for the root user should be set. Currently the MySQL password is not set, which is highly insecure. Actually, the root password is set, it was set using the mariadb secure installation script after installing mariadb before installing virtualmin. Trying to set the current root password to move beyond this part results in a error about not being able to set the password. |

Hi my name is Konstantinos Dimos and I am from Greece. Up to now I usually uploaded my web sites on a VPS ubuntu and control it via Plesk. This Sunday I bought an old laptop and installed ubuntu 16.04.I installed MySql, Webmin, Apache and other stuff. I am trying to host a website I made for my girlfriend and although the web site runs perfectly on VPS I have problems with my laptop. My domain is of type aaa.bbb.ccc which points to my laptop without any problem with ports, firewall, etc because I saw from many browsers the apache's front page. When I made the VHOST as https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g8aRby8jeJI suggests it has problems with the web site and the default page of apache. The index.php page has a form when I submit it I get in the url the action page (aaa.bbb.ccc/goodmorning/goodmorningSubmit.php) and browsers say they can not reach the page. Even the first page(index.php) sometimes does not work on all browsers getting the same result. Could you please help me to configure my ubuntu-laptop because I do not know what to do. I tried many things. Change DNS to google's one. Restart Network adapter, the main problem would be on my laptop. Log's files does not mention something valuable to mention. Under /var/www/ I made a folder called aaa.bbb.ccc and inside it I put goodmorning folder with the script files. I need to point to something like this http://aaa.bbb.ccc/goodmorning/ It maybe run it may not (getting this page not reached) Thanks in advance!!! quick fix, edit /etc/sysconfig/iptables and make those lines look like this: # Allow incoming data that is part of a connection we established -A INPUT -m conntrack --ctstate ESTABLISHED -j ACCEPT # Allow data that is related to existing connections -A INPUT -m conntrack --ctstate RELATED -j ACCEPT Now webmin displays them correctly Dave From: Joaquim Homrighausen [mailto:jo...@we...] Sent: Monday, September 23, 2019 10:53 PM To: web...@li... Subject: Re: [webmin-l] Strange "iptables reset" behavior in 1.910 Looking at this some more, the following two rules: -A INPUT -m state --state ESTABLISHED -j ACCEPT -A INPUT -m state --state RELATED -j ACCEPT Will make Webmin display two "Accept always" entries. Clicking on them, to edit, displays the same, i.e. "Accept" (with no conditions). This is with Webmin 1.930 now. -joho On 2019-06-26 12:01, Joaquim Homrighausen wrote: Just installed Webmin "fresh" 1.910 on an Ubuntu 18.04.LTS system. I used a iptables.up.rules file from another fairly similar system with iptables-restore, but it didn't look quite right in Webmin. So then I used Webmin to "Reset firewall" and told it to use the "Block all except ports used for virtual hosting, on interface" defaults. Everything looked fine except for two "ACCEPT" rules that were at the beginning of the list. Their comments indicate that these were the rules to accept established/related. The only problem is that there were *no* paramters/conditions set for the rule(s), so they basically ended up being "blank ACCEPT" rules. I've never seen this in Webmin before, but I can repeat it at will by choosing to "reset firewall". -joho |
