Hi friends, I use webmin and virtualmin to host many domains in VPS with Centos 7 OS. Apache Server www.example1.com uses default ports (80 and 443) www.example2.com is served at VPS_IP:3001 Both domains have LetsEncrypt SSL successfully installed. Problem: example1.com is properly resolving to https://example1.com example2.com is resolving to http://example2.com Please advice what to do in Apache Server/Webmin/Virtualmin in order to get example2.com resolved to https Thank you Regards Raj |

Hi, This is a follow-up from my previous message: I finally found out how to login with Usermin on macOS (usermin 1.791 on macOS 10.14.6, perl 5.28 with Authen::PAM from macports) It took me some time to debug this but modifying "miniserv.pl" by commenting out the the $pamh->pam_authenticate(); at line 145, works! # check if the PAM authentication can be used by opening a # PAM handle ... $pam_username = "test"; $pam_password = "test"; #$pamh->pam_authenticate(); # <========= Login WORKS when not used $use_pam = 1; # HACK set use_pam on macOS to allow login, since pam a If you don't comment out the line (testing $pamh->pam_authenticate() ) then the login will spin forever (tried on Firefox 72 and Safari). I needed to add an FTP-type monitor to Webmin today, which I haven't played with before. I'm, however, running into somewhat of a snag. The password contains a $, which seems to fubar the check. If I use the same credentials from CLI, it works, but not in Webmin. -joho |

*Webmin version* 1.940 *Virtualmin version* 6.08 I have installed remi php 7.4; installed in /etc/opt/remi/php74 I have added the php.ini location in the php module's configuration. Able to edit the php.ini values through the php module. Yet, when I run the configuration check it does not find the php 7.4 version. What do I need to check or do to get this working Thank you, -Kimberly |

Dimos, make your proxy (Nginx) redirect to *https* version of the website. Webmin should only run in SSL mode. William, make sure that BIND module in Webmin knows about your current configuration. You can simply copy old `/etc/webmin/bind8` folder to new install. Set up Webmin on Debian Buster. Copied over the bind config from an old Debian Jessy. Thought the bind module in Webmin would recognize the zones and configuration, but it doesn't appear to. DNS info is working fine, domains are resolving fine for websites. I'm curious why the Bind module isn't seeing any of the imported configuration, and if I were to try to set something up through the module if it would cause problem with the imported configuration? Any ideas Will |

Greetings, Kimberly! > Normally I wouldn't use Virtualmin; I would just use Webmin to manage > the server. Virtualmin is not for "managing server", Virtualmin is for managing multi-user, multi-instance hosting environment. They are related, but their intended audience and usage pattern are way more different, than just their names. -- With best regards, Andrey Repin Tuesday, October 22, 2019 10:44:55 Sorry for my terrible english... |

In the past I always migrated manually, copying everything over, setting up cron jobs again etc. I decided to try the migrate server and it worked great. The only thing I had to do was to check the use php-fpm after restoring the virtual server. Thank guys for your hard work. I need to see if I can scrap up a few quid to send your way. |

You could setup a post-backup command to run chmod +r on the backup file. On 21/Oct/2019 06:27 Bart Bremmers <bar...@cr...> wrote .. I have 2 scheduled backups 1. Webmin -> Backup Configuration Files 2. System -> File System Backup They both create tgz files I do a nightly rsync from our CentOS server to my Windows 10 PC I can open the "File System Backup" archive on my PC no problem, but the for the " Backup Configuration Files" archive I get "access denied"Wondering why the permissions are different? I prefer the more lax permission structure for the archive. Any way to change this? ᐧ |

I can kick this can down the road a bit because I can copy the certs from the old server to the new server. However, I think this issue should be near or at the top of the list of things to do because many thousands, millions, of Virtualmin users are facing not being able to renew their ssl certs. Let's Encrypt is already now at this time blocking renewals. > >> >> On 16/10/2019 22:42, Kimberly wrote: >>> Error registering: Account creation on ACMEv1 is disabled.
