I switched hardware recently (after havig Trinux up for more than 2 months 24x7); now after a few days of smooth run on the new PC, I am getting every few minutes some kind of crond output stating: crond[495]: USER root pid XXXX cmd /usr/bin/cdpdump This disturbs the screen status of currently running traffic analyzers. What is the cause / remedy for this ? Thanks in advance DAVID RAMIREZ Bogota - Colombia |

Very nice patches, I'll add them to the linuxrc and to the documentation. Sounds like I also need to do a new release, particularly in light of all the do_brk() nonsense. Dear all, I'm also working on running Trinux from a harddisk. In my case, I'm using a small partition which boots SYSLINUX, similar to the way that Trinux is booted from a floppy disk. On this partition, I have stored a number of floppy disk images, so I can boot virtually any Operating System from any bootfloppy, which is much faster then booting from a physical floppy drive. One of the problems I saw is that the original linuxrc in the initrd.gz does not recognize this situation. I have added the following lines to the original linuxrc of Matthew Franz in the 'Special Probing stuff' Section, and then it worked. Matthew, is this something to add permanently in the linuxrc ? Hallo, trinux-talk, I have a lot of computers with ISA PnP network cards. When I use the setup program for these cards and fix port and IRQ (instead of PnP), then I can tell trinux these parameters and trinux finds the server. But most times these computers should work with PnP values for port and IRQ: how can I tell trinux (0.80rc2) to find these values? Viele Gruesse! Helmut |

I'd need to sftp my remote trinux boxes, and I use opensshd. But file sftp-server needed by sftp subsystem of sshd is missing. Is it possible to include it in any package? If not, knowing the right params for building opensshd (and openssh) would help. Sorry my bad english. Thanks. Sergi. |

I noticed that your site says you are having trouble with libpcap and uclibc. The LEAF project has a distro called Bering-uClibc that provides libpcap.lrp. You mightbe able to get some insight about libpcap from that. http://leaf.sourceforge.net/mod.php?mod=userpage&menu=91017&page_id=51 -- Bill Burdick <bi...@ap...> |

This question should be directed to some darkstat-list, but since darkstat comes with Trinux may be some of you can tell me what happened. When I tried darkstat (the version that comes with the current Trinux bundle) for the first time, a few weeks ago, I got in my Trinux-console a colorful (n)top-like display of ongoing network connections. Its man page even had a -m switch to turn it monochrome. It was useful for just having a permanent (and not so changing as a sniffer) display of activity. But after a restart of Trinux there isn't any such "darkstat", now I have the (more current ?) port 666 mini-server only (which, nevertheless, is also very useful and worth to have). The top display is gone, also the man page is different... e.g. -m switch is not there. Something I missed ? Thanks David Ramirez Bogotá - Colombia Active (24x7) Trinux user. |

Hi, I just followed the instructions in doc.txt to install trinux using loadlin.exe. When I boot the system using trinux.bat I receive some strange messages: 1. It says "BOOT=/dev/hda1" 2. Later I receive ================ BOOT:/dev/fd0 <-!? KERNEL:2.4.21 CDEV:hdb FDEV: hda1 hda2 BOOTFS: vfat ================ 3. Then I receive a error message: "mount: Mounting /dev/fd0 on /boot failed" I tried to disable the floppy-drive in BIOS that doens'nt seem to help. I want to boot from HD!!! Any ideas? BTW: In 1.4.2 it says mkdir -p tux/config mkdir tux I think the second mkdir can be removed. regards Detlef Jockheck -- ########################## # adp Gauselmann GmbH # IT-Support # Detlef Jockheck # djo...@ga... ########################## |
