To print with trinux I have used "smbclient". Try "smbclient \\server\printer -p" then at the prompt use the "print" command to print a file. E.g. "print /etc/shadow" would print /etc/shadow to the printer. I hope this helps. JAMie |

Hi all, I want to print to a network printer from Trinux. Has anyone done this? Are there any pkgs available? I would appreciate any help to point me in the right direction. Thanks. -- Kerry |

That error is "normal" :) because /usr/X11R6/lib is /etc/ld.so.conf -- I'm thinking I may have upgraded ncurses and that broke something. I think ldd is in the debug.tgz package if you "ldd nano" that should find the missing libs, I'll check this tonight and I added a bug entry. - mdf > Hallo, von, > > Du meintest am 15.02.04 zum Thema [Trinux-talk] Re: Library fault in trinux ISO 0.890: > > > ldconfig returns the error message: > > > warning: can`t open /usr/X11R6/lib (No such file or directory), > > skipping > > Do you need X11? > > Viele Gruesse! > Helmut > > > > > ------------------------------------------------------- > SF.Net is sponsored by: Speed Start Your Linux Apps Now. > Build and deploy apps & Web services for Linux with > a free DVD software kit from IBM. Actually, do to the lack of a working busybox login. To remotely connect via SSH. You create DSS (public) keys and put them on the boot floppy. There should be some instructions somewher in the archives. If not look at the /etc/init.d/dropbear script and it is pretty straightforward. Dropbear is preferable to sshd. In fact the opensshd package may not even be working at the moment. -mdf > Hallo, trinux, > > Du meintest am 14.02.04 zum Thema [Trinux-talk] how to log into sshd?: > > > how would I log into sshd? what username and password do i use? > > It's just like logging in via "telnet". > You have to tell the username and the password which are valid fuer > the remote machine. > > Viele Gruesse! > Helmut > > > > > ------------------------------------------------------- > SF.Net is sponsored by: Speed Start Your Linux Apps Now. > Build and deploy apps & Web services for Linux with > a free DVD software kit from IBM. Hi I am attempting to build a server which boots from a 256MB CF into a UNIX I have started gathering parts and am interested in using Trinux as the OS, all I need is RAID drivers, Intel 1000 TX and an NFS server it appears the NIC and NFSD are already available. The system is a 1.2 GHz P3 with 512MB RAM and 64 bit PCI Intel 1000 TX, the RAID card has not been purchased but it will have linux driver sources and hanging off the controller will be 8 x 200 GB disks in a RAID 5 configuration. Can anyone think of any pitfalls here, any advice would be much appreciated. I am trying to get as much speed from the NFS Server as possible with the hardware. Thanks in advance. Hmmm...I'm very familiar with CDP....use it on our LAN all the time with an infrastructure of Cisco switches, routers, WAPs, & IP phones. But I'm a curious why you say it would make running a bunch of headless Trinux boxes easier. I should just read up on exacly what cdpdumd actually does, but could you give me a brief explanation of what makes it easier? Can you configure cdpdump to give CDP type information about Trinux boxes to Cisco devices (i.e., if I have a Trinux box directly connected to a Cisco switch, chould I run "show cdp neighbor" and get info about that Trinux box, such as IP address?) Keeping on this thread, it may be related to the CDP implementation, as I find the following line in dmesg : cdp uses obsolete (PF_INET, SOCK_PACKET) . I have no knowledge of CDP, a google search refers to Cisco Discovery Protocol, is this it ? David Ramirez Colombia |

Dear Sirs: I'm having some problems with NE2000 configurations.- I deleted from Standard floppy the dhcp.tgz to be able to have place.- I copied to /modules the 8390.o and ne.o files I added in /tux/config/modules following lines: 8390.o ne.o io=0x240 And in /tux/config/eth0 I changed dhcp for a fixed IP and NerMask When I boot, nothing shows in "lsmod", although previously it showed: unix.o mii.o af_packet.o If I try to "insmod" ALL the mentioned modules it does it fine.- What am I missing or doing wrong??? Awaiting your comments Yours Sincerely Carlos Alejandro Aguero |
