My X1 Yoga has been doing okay since I bought it in December. Sometimes the tablet would forget how to talk to the pen, so I have a script to unload and reload the wacom module, and that would restore it. Annoying, but usable. Recently ubuntu upgraded itself, and now if I touch a pen (either the stock Lenovo pen or my Bamboo), the whole machine instantly freezes. My kern.log doesn't have anything helpful in it other than a page of nulls. I have no idea where to begin, other than to try downgrading...

Hi Jason, Thanks for looking into this for me. My understanding of how the pens work is weak, so I suspect you are correct and that my computer doesn't support an active pen. Sorry for the noise. Thanks Thomas. The sysinfo script didn't detect a pen sensor either; it shows a touchscreen from ELAN rather than Wacom but no pen. Are you sure your device supports the PN556W stylus? Searching for info on the XPS 15 9550 it sounds like it only has a traditional capacitive touchscreen. If that's the case, you'll only be able to make use of purely-capacitive pens. An "active pen" like the PN556W requires special support from the touchscreen controller to work.
Sorry it's taken so long to respond. The requested tarball is attached. Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Thomas. Could you please first make sure that you are running an X11 session? You can check your current session type by running echo $XDG_SESSION_TYPE inside a terminal. If it prints out "wayland", then you'll need to switch the session type. If you use the GNOME desktop, you should be able to do this by logging out, clicking the "gear" icon next to the login button, slecting "GNOME on Xorg", and then logging back in. Afterwards, run the echo command again to double-check that you've indeed started...
I just bought the latest Wacom Intuos Pro PTH-660. It works with my xsetwacom script perfectly when the tablet is connected via USB. The tablet also works via Bluetooth, but only the default settings. In other words, my script that holds my custom button assignments does nothing when using my tablet with the bluetooth connection. Am I missing something, or is xsetwacom scripts USB-only? How can I set custom tablet button configurations with Blueman?

Month later, I extensively tested the two remotes, moved back from Arch to Ubuntu, and I confirm this is not an hardware issue.... The bug is still happening whatever the remote and distrib used. I propose to send the second EKR to Carlos from Gnome so he can finish to integrate the EKR to Gnome and xsetwacom would have an happy end of life. Thanks to both of you for your great work anyway !
No Stylus on CentOS 7.5
Well. As a last ditch-effort I install windows and to my suprise it did not work there either. So I disassembled the tablet, and the controller board was not properly fixed to the enclosure causing it to shift and connection to the digitizer was lost. It must not have been properly re-assembled when it was refurbished. This bug report should be marked and closed. Sorry for the inconvinience.

When you say "cannot get the stylus to respond", do you mean your stylus does not move the cursor? If yes, do you see the LED indicator on the tablet, which is beside the ring, changes brightness when your stylus touches the tablet? If not, your stylus might be for a different device. Or, did you test your Intuos 4 on another system or with a different Linux version? I tested it here on my CentOS 7.5. It works fine. I have the XP-Pen DECO 01 graphics tablet ( https://www.xp-pen.com/goods/show/id/224.html ) and it works great on my Linux system, I've been using it for sculpting in blender for awhile and never had any problems! I think I needed to apt-get a generic tablet driver (maybe DIGImend?) to get it working but thats probably going to be the same for every tablet. On the note of XP-pen, it's looking like they're putting a lot of effort recently into becoming a bigger name in the graphics tablet industry....
Hi, I'm on Linux Mint 19 and as far as I can tell have all the necessary packages installed for my Graphire 4 wacom tablet to work properly. I've used xsetwacom commands successfully in the past with older versions of Linux Mint so I don't know if the distro is to blame here but all the pressure related commands I enter have no effect. Example : xsetwacom set "Wacom Graphire4 4x5 Pen stylus" Threshold 1700 No error message though. Commands that aren't related to the stylus pressure work well though...
