This happens when one selects a folder and one or more files inside it, presses Delete and confirm. A big-ish file hierarchy is needed, so that jEdit tries to delete a file that is already deleted when deleting the root folder. It then freezes Steps to reproduce: 1. Prepare the test folder ``` ~> rsync -rvt jedit/releasing/sandbox/BinEd-0.2.1.1/ jedit/coucou/ (...) sent 45.139.767 bytes received 12.270 bytes 90.304.074,00 bytes/sec ~> find jedit/coucou/ | wc -l 869 ``` 2. in jEdit's VFS browser, navigate to jedit 3. select coucou + 5 entries inside it (BinEd, BinEd/images, BinEd/lib, BinEd/src, build.gradle) 4. press Delete 5. confirm 6. jEdit is frozen 7. using a debugger, dump threads stacktrace Failed to reproduce with a single folder with a single file inside it. Hi there, just a small status update. While I was preparing the release, I stumbled upon that Mac user on the users list not able to start jEdit. It turned out, this affects all users on such newer Macs with arm architecture, so that they are unable to start jEdit. Due to that I want to fix that issue before doing the release. Unfortunately, that user stopped responding mid-investigation when I had it half-working for him. Fortunately, I now got my hands on such a new Mac and was able to reproduce the issue there. So I can now finally properly investigate and fix the issue and then kick out the release. Though, I'm right now first fixing our web services, most of which were down due to the recent PHP upgrade on SourceForge project web. Here is a list: - keyboard bindings for template actions were not initialized - keyboard shortcuts for templates were not functioning before opening the Plugins->Templates menu - replaced the serial naming scheme for template actions; now shortcuts are no longer reassigned when new templates are added - template accelerators were not saved - added missing title and message properties for accelerator dialogs in dockable - improved usability of accelerator option pane Now I feel my changes are stable and might be useful to all jEdit users. What do you think: Should I just check the changed code into the SVN repo and prepare a release as described here: http://plugins.jedit.org/releasing.php ? Or would you like to see/try my changes first? Here is a list: - keyboard bindings for template actions were not initialized - keyboard shortcuts for templates were not functioning before opening the Plugins->Templates menu - replaced the serial naming scheme for template actions; now shortcuts are no longer reassigned when new templates are added - template accelerators were not saved - added missing title and message properties for accelerator dialogs in dockable - improved usability of accelerator option pane Now I feel my changes are stable and might be useful to all jEdit users. What do you think: Should I just check the changed code into the SVN repo and prepare a release as described here: http://plugins.jedit.org/releasing.php ? Or would you like to see/try my changes first? This happens when one selects a folder and one or more files inside it, presses Delete and confirm. A big-ish file hierarchy is needed, so that jEdit tries to delete a file that is already deleted when deleting the root folder. It then freezes Steps to reproduce: 1. Prepare the test folder ``` ~> rsync -rvt jedit/releasing/sandbox/BinEd-0.2.1.1/ jedit/coucou/ (...) sent 45.139.767 bytes received 12.270 bytes 90.304.074,00 bytes/sec ~> find jedit/coucou/ | wc -l 869 ``` 2. in jEdit's VFS browser, navigate to jedit 3. select coucou + 5 entries inside it (BinEd, BinEd/images, BinEd/lib, BinEd/src, build.gradle) 4. press Delete 5. confirm 6. jEdit is frozen 7. using a debugger, dump threads stacktrace Failed to reproduce with a single folder with a single file inside it. My mistake!
It's not normal: I didn't check that the downloaded libs were correctly copied.
I've made a PR with a fix. Please take it and re-tag (same number or preferably a new one if somebody has downloaded the bad release already).
