I made quite some changes for the macOS launcher for the upcoming release, fixing various problems, especially on M1 Macs. --- **[bugs:#4134] jEdit becomes unresponsive to key presses** **Status:** open **Group:** severe bug **Created:** Thu May 02, 2024 07:23 PM UTC by Damien **Last Updated:** Thu May 02, 2024 07:23 PM UTC **Owner:** Damien I've been seeing some strange behavior within jEdit recently while trying to use it to work on the LSP plugin. Shortly after beginning work, jEdit becomes completely unresponsive to my key presses, and I cannot for the life of me figure out why. - This behavior normally kicks in as a result of opening the search-and-replace dialog, though I have seen it with other popups too (like Help->About jEdit...). Until I do that, typing works just fine. - Mouse interaction within jEdit still works. - My keyboard still works outside of jEdit. - No plugin appears to be responsible, since I'm able to reproduce it with no plugins loaded. - No errors appear in the activity log. - I have seen this with both Java 11 and Java 17. This is tested with jEdit 5.6.0 running on openSUSE Tumbleweed. Anyone have any tips on how to debug this further? I really have no idea what's going on, and it's making jEdit borderline unusable. --- Sent from sourceforge.net because jed...@li... is subscribed to https://sourceforge.net/p/jedit/bugs/ To unsubscribe from further messages, a project admin can change settings at https://sourceforge.net/p/jedit/admin/bugs/options. Hey there The pages are hopefully all up and properly working again now. I also (hopefully) properly fixed the outstanding macOS issues. I've given a snapshot build to another mac user who hopefully can give it a try. If anyone else with such a new Mac is following here, be welcome to also test whether it works now properly out-of-the-box: https://www.swisstransfer.com/d/6cdb1106-69c8-4f5a-9530-d0ac42bc3582. I'm on vacation for two weeks starting in a few hours. After I'm back and hopefully got positive feedback, I'll finally create the release. Cheers Björn Am Di., 26. Hi I see that we need to use BufferTabs v1.2.5 with the latest (unreleased) version of jEdit, but only version 1.2.4 is available in the plugin manager. Am I missing something regarding the version availability? Or do we have to wait for the official release of jEdit to get the newest BufferTabs added to the plugin repo? I've compiled my own copy for now, but thought I'd ask anyway. thanks James |

No, I haven't been using it as a daily driver lately, though I may run it through its paces more soon. Out of curiosity, did you have debug mode enabled for jEdit when the activity log filled up your disk? I'm thinking it might be good to have the LSP plugin throttle its own logging when it detects that the log file has reached a certain size. --- **[plugin-central-submission:#1076] LSP** **Status:** open **Group:** None **Created:** Wed Jun 14, 2023 02:09 AM UTC by Damien **Last Updated:** Mon Apr 08, 2024 05:24 PM UTC **Owner:** nobody **Announcement:** Initial Plugin Central release **Name:** LSP **Version:** 0.1 **Requirements:** - JDK 11 - jEdit 5.5.0 - plugin: ErrorList 2.4.0 - plugin: SideKick 1.8 - plugin: ProjectViewer 3.6 - bundled library: org.eclipse.lsp4j 0.18.0 - bundled library: org.eclipse.lsp4j.jsonrpc 0.18.0 - bundled library: org.eclipse.xtext.xbase.lib 2.28.0 - bundled library: gson 2.9.1 - bundled library: guava 31.1-jre - bundled library: commonmark 0.20.0 - bundled library: commons-compress 1.23.0 All bundled libraries are downloaded from Maven Central using Ivy. **Source Code:** https://git.sr.ht/~damien/jedit-lsp/tree/v0.1 **Short Description:** This plugin turns jEdit into a Language Server Protocol (LSP) client, which provides a number of IDE-like features by running and interacting with LSP servers. **Long Description:** ~~~ <html> <p>This plugin turns jEdit into a Language Server Protocol (LSP) client, which provides a number of IDE-like features by running and interacting with LSP servers.</p> <p>For more information on the protocol, see: https://microsoft.github.io/language-server-protocol/</p> <p>To see a list of available LSP servers, see: https://microsoft.github.io/language-server-protocol/implementors/servers/</p> <p>The LSP protocol supports many, many features, and this plugin only implements a tiny subset of them.
