Hi all, I've run into the following data file: 20.04.2012 15:27 27 25 24.2 0.32 20.04.2012 15:27 27 25 24.2 0.3 20.04.2012 15:28 27 25 24.2 0.28 20.04.2012 15:28 27 25 24.2 0.26 20.04.2012 15:28 27 25 24.2 0.24 20.04.2012 15:28 27 25 24.2 0.22 . . . ...and I would like to plot it, by: set xdata time set timefmt x "%d.%m.%Y %H:%M" p "blabla.txt" u 1:2 and it plots sg, but not the expected result. I don't know what can be the problem. Dear Hans and other members,
It is great to use epslatex terminal to produce very professional eps file.
But I still met with one issue, that is, I cannot adjust font size for say
key, label, axis, but all the fonts are of the same default size. The
script I used is below. Thanks for further help on fixing this,
Sincerely,
Jon

reset
set xlabel "$Log_{10} 1/N$" offset 0,0; set ylabel "$Log_{10}

set key at screen 0.38,0.9 font ",30" spacing 4 samplen 3
set label 'g = 0.2' at screen 0.475,0.85 font ",90"
set xlabel font ",30"; set ylabel font ",35"
set xtics 2 font ",30"; set ytics 2 font ",30"

Thanks so much! I didn't use too many types of terminals, but I do know there is reason why so many terminals are produced for use. Is there way to systematically introduce what these terminals are doing? Not to be too technical, but simply say, say, epslatex is to generate eps file for use with latex document, etc Jon 2012/4/22 Hans-Bernhard Bröker <HBB...@t-...> > On 22.04.2012 21:59, Jon wrote: > >> Dear All, >> >> I need to generate latex type of display on eps file. Dear All,
I need to generate latex type of display on eps file. I used
set term postscript eps enhanced color solid
to generate latex display. I use the standard latex command as
c^{\dagger}_{1,\uparrow} c_{2,\uparrow}
to try to generate nice display. But the generated display is not good,
\*** cannot be recognized, space between two c are too wide. I don't know
how to deal with it. The version of gnuplot if 4.4.
Thank you very much for helping me out on this, the latex feature is is
very important for me!
Sincerely,
Jon

Have you read the documentation for the "pause" command? gnuplot > help pause Looks like you can use the "pause mouse keypress" option to wait for a key press and fork the execution of your script based on the input value. Hi, I'm working on my first splot and, so far, everything is looking great. However, I'm trying to display the labels for the z axis twice, once on the left of the plot and once on the right. I have used "set ztics mirror" and that displays the ticks, but the labels are missing... I browsed the documentation and it mentions that "If you do want to mirror the z-axis tics, you might want to create a bit more room for them with border". I don't know how to use the border option to achieve that. Any help would be appreciated. Zigor. |

Hello, I am in need of plotting a 2D vector field, but due to the huge difference in modulus my field experiences, I decided to link it to the color. Since the modulus is a real variable which spans many orders of magnitude, I defined a palette and a colorbox. I organized the file in 5 columns, the first 4 being the ones required by the "with vector" option, and the last one is where I store the moduli. Essentially what I'm trying to do is to "combine" the commands "lc palette fraction <value>" and "lc variable"/"lc rgb variable"), because I'd like the <value> needed by the first command to be taken from the 5th column of the data file. This is what I'm unable to achive. The core part of the script is: set palette positive nops_allcF maxcolors 0 gamma 1.5 color model HSV set palette defined ( 0 0 1 1, 1 0.75 0.75 1 ) set cbrange [0 : 1] noreverse nowriteback set cblabel 'Current Intensity' pl 'flowR' us 1:2:3:4:5 with vectors head filled lt 2 lc palette fraction variable Do you have any suggestion? Hi, The command set object circle at 0,0 size 0.5 linewidth 1 produces no output nor an error message at the console. However set object circle at 0,0 size 0.5 produces a circle as desired. Is this a bug? More importantly for me, is there a way to change the linewidth of the circle/arc? -- Leo Butler <l_b...@us...> SDF Public Access UNIX System - http://sdf.lonestar.org |

use arrows and additional xtics: set xrange [0:200] set yrange [0:3] f(x)=x**0.2 x1=80 set arrow 1 from first x1, graph 0 to first x1, f(x1) nohead set arrow 2 from graph 0, first f(x1) to first x1, f(x1) nohead set xtics add (x1) set ytics add (f(x1)) plot f(x) the linestyle is terminal dependent, so use 'test' to see what your terminal provides and choose the appropriate linetype. you should add a date to your data, to indicate that "17:21:03" is in day "1"
and
"16:27:07" is in day "2".

I re-post here a question I asked in http://www.manning-sandbox.com/thread.jspa?threadID=49316 another forum . The smooth frequency directive is very useful to generate histogram of statistical data. Sometimes it is desirable (for instance to deal with the file of reduced size) to save these statistics as figures in a file; this can be done using the set table option. Even if you try this on a very simple file, such as 1 2 2 you get a strange output ################ #Curve 0 of 1, 3 points #x y type 1 1 i 2 2 i 2 1 u ################ notice that there is an extra line, as if there was something undefined. This weird behaviour does not occur for the simple dataset 1 2 3 -- View this message in context: http://old.nabble.com/smooth-frequency---table-tp33545000p33545000.html Sent from the Gnuplot - User mailing list archive at Nabble.com. |

Hi. I wrote this script and found that the key bar is aligned to the bottom of letters in the key box. Please find the figure uploaded to my Skydrive here: http://tinyurl.com/7dlhtns What do I do to make the key bar aligned to the center of letters? I'm using gnuplot 4.6 patchlevel 0 under Windows 7 x64. Same thing happens for 4.5 patchlevel 0. As far as I looked up the gnuplot-info forum, this one has not been discussed.
reset set encoding utf8 set term png enhanced \ font "arial, 60" \ truecolor \ dashlength 10 linewidth 10 \ round \ size 3.2*600, 1.98*600 set output "keyLabelTest.png" set linestyle 1 lc rgb "#708090" lw 0.2 lt 1 #Slate Gray set linestyle 10 lc rgb "#000000" lw 0.5 lt 1 #black tm = 0.9 bm = 0.25 lm = 0.25 rm = 0.9 set tmargin at screen tm set bmargin at screen bm set lmargin at screen lm set rmargin at screen rm set tics scale 2 set xrange [pi:2*pi] set yrange [-1:1] set xlabel "x" font "ariali" set ylabel "y" font "ariali" set format x "%.1P{/times π}" set xtic 0.5*pi font "arial" set ytic 0.5 set key \ font "arial, 50" \ height 1 \ spacing 1.25 \ reverse Left left #height: Lower the keybox slightly set sample 1000 plot sin(x) w l ls 1 t "Sin(x)",\ cos(x) w l ls 10 t "Cos(x)"
Thank you, Junghun Shin |

Hi, I think, it's not what I meant. I don't really need to move the key down or change position of the plot, or titles. My problem that there is a free unused space (under the key) on the canvas. And when I insert the .eps file into my LaTeX document, there is quite a big free space after the figure, which I would like to reduce. In other words, I want to "cut" the canvas. I HAVE JUST SOLVED THE PROBLEM, but not in gnuplot - I have opened the .eps in text editor and reduced the size in %%BoundingBox. Kind Regards, Andrey Sapegin. Dear Gnuploters, just a general question, out of curiosity: I do not really get what 'set autoscale keepfix' is supposed to do in contrast to 'set autoscale fix'. The manual isn't too helpful in this case, and i wasn't able to find any hints on the net. So if someone has a small example illustrating the differences, I would be very thankful. Regards, Paul |
