But this does not work
plot "< paste . ARG1 | awk '!/^\#/ { print $2 }' "
neither
plot "< paste @ARG1 | awk '!/^\#/ { print $2 }' "

Hello,
Attached file displays two images with 5 splots in each image.
Would like suggestions on better ways to visualize what is being shown.
In each image, the 5 splots are:
1) Intersection of surface of 3rd and 4th plots
2) Projection of 1st plot onto x-y plane
3) A surface labeled M
4) A surface labeled C
5) In the first image, this is the maximum of 3rd and 4th plots; in
the second image, it is the minimum of the 3rd and 4th plots.

Thanks, Ethan. This looks lie just what I wanted. I wrote code to move the points around as needed, but it's ugly and confusing and I'd love to delete it. I'll give a shot as soon as the FreeBSD port is updated. If I didn't have a work-around in place, I'd do the port myself and may still do so if 5.1 does not show up soon. Thank you for your answer. I don't want to change default behavior, but asking for an extension. I think this is easy to implement and does not clash with any current implementations. This formatting is pretty distributed and can be found in many famous publications, e.g. https://arxiv.org/abs/1207.7214 Gnuplot is such an flexible tool and I wonder why it misses this basic label alignment. While I agree you should be able to place the units where ever you wish,
I don't think just because ROOT writes them at the max end of the axes
is a good reason to do it. The rest of us are perfectly at home with
the units in the middle. The example publication would not be
materially effected in the least.

I think I got it. I removed the title bit in the "plot for" line and I
got a nice looking graph.
Like this:

"gnuplotloop.script", line 15: unexpected or unrecognized token
Line 15 is the "plot for" line. Could you please let me know how can I
add these parametes in the "plot for" syntax?
