Hi all. I want to have a colormap combined with contour lines on one plot. But if I do that I also get the lines (not contour lines, but those I'd get if I just did splot 'file' u 1:2:3 without any other options specified) plotted, which I don't want. Is there a way to just have countours and colormap? What I did was: set style data pm3d set pm3d map # unset surface set cntrparam levels 5 set samples 10 set cntrparam levels 25 set samples 100 set contour base splot 'filename' using 9:10:5 title "" So if I do in the last line: with lines palette then I get the unwanted extra lines. If I don't, then I only get colormap and no contours... Hope I made it clear. There's an option /noend you can give : wgnuplot /noend commandfile.txt - oh - seems you can also spell it -noend or -persist these days. It doesn't work quite the same as the x11 -persist option, but the effect is similar. The plot window stays open, but you also get the interactive window, with a prompt. Interestingly, wgnuplot commandfile.txt - seems to work *better*, because the plot window stays up, but you don't get the interactive window in this case. So I changed the contents of the file commandfile.txt to the following two lines: plot sin(x) pause 10 The window with the sin(x) plot appears for 10 seconds and disappears. During its display the window is frozen. I would like to snatch it, resize it, move it around and keep it as long as I want to until I hit the upper right corner. I cannot, it is frozen and it has a predetermined lifetime. The idea would be to indicate the data file and prescribe whatever is to happen with the data in the command file. I run Windows 2000. I have just downloaded the file gp400win32.zip from http://www.duke.edu/~hpgavin/gnuplot.html. I am using Windows-XP (home) and I really dont know how to install GNUPLOT. I opened this zip file but I cannot find any executable file to install. Th= e file INSTALL is a text file... Am I doing something wrong?. I use Tex (latex) under WinEdt "environment". Hello ! I have compiled gnuplut 4.0 on Ubuntu (5.10 Breezy) . Then when I use gnuplot (with its terminal X), the Xserver (Xorg) works a lot (Intel Xeon 2.8 GHz). It becomes actually hard to work with other applications. Note that the problem appears as soon as gnuplot open its X terminal and doesn't depend on the amount of data which has to be plotted. It disappear as soon as I destroy the window. I use gnuplot since more than five years on linux and I have never had this problem. Does anybody know what's wrong ? Thierry |

my plot is:
plot "file1" using 3 "BHR %lf %lf %lf %lf %lf", \
"file 2" using 3 "BHR %lf %lf %lf %lf %lf"
The third column are percentages, they sum up to 100. As keys for the different colors I want the first column. Labeling the x-Axis is no problem (took it from the examples), but how can I specifi the first column as key description?

Hello I would like to splot a map in pm3d with this kind of file: x y R1 R2 0 0 0.2 0.8 1 0 0.3 0.7 2 0 0.5 0.5 ... 0 1 0.4 0.6 1 1 0.3 0.7 2 1 1 0 ...etc In this file R1+R2=1 (all the time) I would like to attribute a different color for both R1 and R2 columns. For example if I attribute red to R1 and yellow to R2 and that I plot the point defined by third line of the example (2,0,0.5,0.5) the result should be orange at the point x=2 and y=0. Is it possible to do such a map??
