I am experiencing ongoing issues with my microphone audio after resetting my sound settings. The audio output from my mic sounds distorted, “crunchy,” and sometimes overly harsh. This issue mainly happens when using Equalizer APO.
Additionally, Windows “Audio Enhancements” keeps turning itself back on automatically, even after I manually disable it. I do not want audio enhancements enabled, but it appears that something (possibly Equalizer APO or the audio driver) is forcing it back on.
This behavior was not happening before, and my setup was working correctly for a long time. The issue started immediately after I reset my sound/audio settings.
The audio enhancements must be enabled else all Audio Processing Objects are bypassed (audio enhancements are APO's). So Equalizer APO needs what all APO's need, the enabling of this setting. But I'm not sure why this setting is automatically enabled. Perhaps Equalizer APO's Device Selector and Configuration Editor do this at their checking of the audio devices.
