When I enter a dB value in the Copy command, the dB unit is deleted when I toggle the command on/off. See attached.

It's even a bit worse in some respect. After entering 'dB' everything is alright as the command is created as it should be. 'db' is present in the command. Note that Equalizer APO is textual command driven. When adding another command the 'dB' label disappears but will remain in the command. This is confusing. Is it there or not? Only after clicking the value field the 'dB' will disappear from the command too.

The good thing here is that despite the 'dB' label disappearing it's still present in the command, meaning everything keeps on working until the user is clicking the value input field. But he/she needs to enter 'dB' again to prevent issues.

When I click on edit text, the 'db' is there, but it's gone as soon as I leave focus on the command and then turning it off and on again

Yes it's not really a big issue if I leave it ON once I set a db value but it I was trying to use the command as a left channel preamp Copy: L=-0.8dB*L and quickly compare centering by toggling the switch. It's just one line instead of writing down the following:

      Channel: L
      Preamp: -0.8 dB
      Channel: All
      (PEQ filters)

I figured I should report this issue regardless.

      Excuse my broken english.

Yep, the same happened here. Perhaps you can alter the command directly. Then you're sure nothing is being deleted by the Configuration Editor interface. Also knowing that the developer hasn't updated this editor for something like 8 years I don't expecta fix for this bug. On the other hand, recently he did some work on the Configurator now called Device Selector. Perhaps there is another editor in the making.

Yeah I really wish there would be an overhaul of the editor or for someone to fork it on github and make the UI a little bit more flexible with lock features. It's too easy to mis-click a knob and screw up your eq.

Have you considered using the Peace equalizer interface for Equalizer APO? A fully maintained project and app. I'm currently working on the 68th update (version 1.6.9.x). Anyway, I'm also doing the support for Equalizer APO and any of its apps. We (Juha, Etienne and me) are doing this support while the developer is doing some but not much unfortunately.

I have considered making an editor like the Configuration Editor but most Peace users are more than happy so the endeavour may not be worth it.

I really appreciate Peace, especially its Headphone and Hearing Test feature. I also enjoy how the PEQ can be adjusted using the graph display. However, I stopped using Peace for a few reasons.

One challenge I encountered was that it felt a bit cumbersome to add/remove sliders or import configurations. Additionally, there’s no option to display the final graph when stacking multiple speaker EQs in a single configuration. It’s also not possible to view a full 50-band GEQ on my screen for a single speaker setup. I also noticed that some buttons and features disappear when resizing the interface to its minimum width and height. That said, I think Peace works well for users who typically use 15 sliders or fewer.

In a sense you're absolutely right, especially knowing that the Configuration Editor is command-based which gives maximum flexibility. And as Peace is limited to 31 sliders (mimicking a hardware equalizer and just for the sake of fitting on the screen without the need for a scrollbar), needing 50 isn't what Peace offers, well unless I increase this limit. One can have multiple 31 sliders for the same speaker but then graph will be split which isn't nice in your case.

to display the final graph when stacking multiple speaker EQs in a single configuration.

I'm guessing that you want to see the EQ's of all speakers as individual lines in the graph. That would be nice and can be useful.

Indeed, having Peace at its minimum size will make the copy and paste speaker buttons disappear.

In principle I promote and support the usage of all Equalizer APO interfaces as each has its benefits.
