If I reboot or turn my pc off then back on - do I have to manually start Equalizer APO each time? Or does it automatically load in the background?
If I have to manually open it into a window - is there any way to automatically minimize that so it isn't always in view?
I just installed it to lower the sound of my VERY loud Dell AC511 soundbar which is super loud at the lowest setting (especially with headphones on) and just want it to do its thing in the background.

Since Equalizer APO is APO (audio processing object) software it stays active at the background (as a kind of Windows driver), also after a restart. By using its interface, the Configuration Editor, you tell this background part of Equalizer APO to process the audio like you want to. When you're done setting things close the Configuration Editor. Your set audio manipulation does its job in the background.
The only event that may stop Equalizer APO from working is a Windows 10 update. This doesn't happen a lot but it may. In that case just install Equalizer APO again. Lowering the pre amplification of your very loud Dell AC511 soundbar becomes less loud (as you probably have done already). This stays active until Equalizer APO stops working by an uninstall or some (freak) Windows update. On my Windows 10 computer Equalizer APO kept on working after all updates.

On PC #1 the program window opens and is visible every time I reboot and I have to close the window each time.
On PC #2 there is no program window open.
(Note: On PC #1 Equalizer APO shows up in 'startup' items, but on pc #2 it does not show up - and... on PC #2 it doesn't show under pc 'processes until I click on my start shortcut to open the program window).
Is the program working on PC #2 even though it doesn't open a window after each reboot?
1) If it is, how do I get PC #1 to stop opening a full program window each reboot?
2) If not, how do I get PC #2 to always open when Windows boots up?

Equalizer APO consists out of 2 parts: the audio system part and an interface like its Configuration Editor (see attached image) or other interfaces like Peace. On SourceForge you'll find some of these interfaces.
After installing, Equalizer APO does its job (changing the audio stream according what you have set on an interface). So an interface doesn't have to be active on screen or in the background.
By deleting the Equalizer APO shortcut in the startup menu it's interface isn't started. Note, this shortcut should be the one pointing to the Editor.exe file (the Configuration Editor).
