I have tried many troubleshooting steps like uninstalling the APO and reinstalling it again and reinstalling my audio devices in Device Manager and uninstalling the Windows update that broke the APO and none of it has worked. It just does not open and I don't know what I'm supposed to do.

Edit: Also forgot to say but the Editor does not open either. The entire APO is completely broken and will not open anything.

The Configuration Editor has a nasty bug which makes it crash on startup. Perhaps you have stumbled upon this bug which is caused when detaching the lower analysis panel (the graph). I made this tool to remove this bug. Basically it removes the "windowState" key value of the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\EqualizerAPO\Configuration Editor key in the Windows registry.

And if the Configurator isn't opening too this is usually caused by some antimalware/firewall app blocking it. First check if Equalizer APO is installed in c:\program files\equalizerapo. And try running the Configurator with administrative rights (right menu -> Run as administrator).

Tried both and that didn't change anything although installing version 1.1.2 fixed the issue and I
was able to open the Configurator and use it. Hopefully I don't run into this problem every time I update Windows.

Now I have run into another problem, I use the equalizer for my microphone and everything was fine before this whole thing with the broken Configurator but now my microphone makes a very loud white noise at some points, its not constant, it comes and goes. I tried using the other installations in the Configurator, but the only one that actually applies the EQ is the experimental one. This whole experience has been tiring and I'm not really sure what to do.

How do you EQ your microphone? If you're using the Configuration Editor and its graphic equalizer to eq your mic then you could have the issue you're talking about. GraphicEQ does have this issue. For eq-ing use parametric filters, basically peak filters. These are flawless. Therefore the Peace equalizer uses peak filters by default for eq-ing. It does have the GraphicEQ but it isn't advised.

I found that out when I was first doing my mic EQ and found out that GraphicEQ messes it up but that doesn't seem to be the issue here since my mic setup doesn't use GraphicEQ and also its a whole different type of noise it makes. GraphicEQ on mic makes a buzzing/distortion sound while the sound I'm hearing now is more like really loud white noise. Thats why I'm confused with this because I have not experienced this issue before.

Edit: Forgot to say I'm using Peace for the setup.

Also I feel like it has something to do with CPU usage since the noise usually appears when there is strain on the CPU which I don't really know why that would be a problem since the EQ doesn't really use a lot of CPU to run.

And you aren't using VoiceMeeter by any chance? There was an issue with the VoiceMeeter Equalizer APO interface. For instance some user did some CPU multithreading bios setting change to get this sorted. This issue was resolved (or improved) in Equalizer APO 1.3.

If using the default peak filters in Peace then this noise issue is indeed very odd. The only way that Equalizer APO could be using some considerably CPU time is by using a lot of Linkwitz-Riley or Butterworth filters. But no noise should be there.

Does lowering the pre amplifying slider help a bit? Then again, it doesn't sound like a clipping issue.

I wasn't using VoiceMeeter. Also the issue seems to have gone away, don't know how or why but its fine now. Thanks for responding.

Well, great to hear. I hope it stays away :)
