I have installed Equalizer APO and uninstalled it several times now today to try to figure why I am getting this error.
The Configurator runs OK and I select to install the Blue Ice USB . There is a slight quirk with my version of the Configurator in that when I tick the selection box the selection line disappears, but it it comes back correct if I flip from Playback to Record devices.
I then re-boot and try to use Editor, but I always get the above error and the message
Do you want to run the Configurator application to fix the problem?
But re-running the Configurator still shows the Blue Ice USB mic and the Editor still says it can't find it. There are no errors currently showing in the error log.
Any ideas? Thanks.

Other users have reported issues with the mics of Blue. Does this mic have its own (driver) software?
It seems that when Equalizer APO does its rerouting in the registry to get to the audio stream of this mic, Windows or Blue software undoes this rerouting. Therefore the Configurator keeps on saying the message. The question is why does this undo action keep on happening?

Peter, thanks for getting back. The Blue Ice mic worked OK with the Windows drivers and without any additional drivers. Then I did try installing the driver from their web site but it didn't seem to do anything useful (ie work) so I uninstalled it, I had a problem uninstalling it from Device Manager - I think I have resolved that and the Blue Ice does work in Windows now without any driver. I wonder if I should try to remove all traces of it from the Registry with the mic unplugged so that Windows installs generic drivers.

If you're using your mic just as a mic, meaning that the extra features Blue has put into their driver (if any features!) aren't used, your choice of using the Windows default is just fine. And deleting all registry keys if you can find them all, is a good thing, I guess. In this key Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\MMDevices\Audio\Capture you'll find your mic somewhere. Be sure to delete the right key.

Hello, I hope someone may be able to help.

Should have said - the preamplifier doesn't work, of course.

Thanks, Peter. I'll try to be careful.
