Equalizer APO / Discussion / General Discussion: Equalizer APO not working

I've been using Equalizer APO on my ASUS ROG GL752VW for a few months and I love it, I have different presets for my different audio equipment. It's totally amazing...

Then one day, it stopped working. Eveerything seems to load properly (I'm using the PEACE interface btw), but changing any of the settings has no effect on the audio output.

I think this happened following an audio driver update (Conexant HD Audio), but I'm not sure.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Equalizer and the drivers, but can't fix it. I just get flat, un-equalized sound?

It could also have been a Windows update. Anyway, have you checked in the Configurator of Equalizer APO if it's still active (installed) on the Conexant HD Audio? Also because of a new driver installation something may be changed in the device properties. For instance the Disable all enhancements checkbox on the Enhancement tab is checked and must be unchecked again.

    Actually, I've just received and there isn't a disable all enhancements
    checkbox, but none of the enhancements are checked and oddly, when
    equaliser APO is assigned to the correct channel, I get no sound at all.

And is there an Advanced tab with a Enable audio enhancements checkbox? If so, this one has to be checked according to the troubleshooting documentation.

I hope you get it to work again. Perhaps Jonas can help you with this issue. As creator of Equalizer APO he's far more experienced than I.

Unfortunately, I also have no clue what the problem could be, so please do these things:

Try to generate a log file with trace messages enabled (see Wiki for instructions).

Replace your config.txt file with an empty file to make sure that there is no problem with the configuration which causes the silence.

    The log file looks normal, E-APO seems to be working correctly. I can see that APOs from the soundcard driver are also active (called by E-APO), which could be causing the problems and which might have changed when the audio driver was updated.
    
    So, please try the following:
    Open the Configurator, select your audio device by clicking on its connection name, activate the troubleshooting options and uncheck both "Use original APO" checkboxes.
