Why does Equalizer APO accepts only wav, flac or ogg files into convolution with impulse response option?
I am using viper4windows and I have like 100+ .irs files and some of them significantly improve sound, but I can't import any of them into EAPO.

Also, is there any way to get XBass, Cure Tech + and Ozone+ Clarity effects in EAPO?
I've read that V4W is a clone of EAPO (configurator looks similar as well), so are those additional VST plugins or something used in V4W?

Viper4Windows related questions should go to Viper4Windows support (who knows what those XClarity etc. effects do).

Have you checked if .irs file-extension is just 'an acronym' for wav, flac or ogg (rename to wav as for an example) ? There also are tons of audio format converters you could try to convert these files to supported formats. If you adopt IR files from software bundles then remember read copyright clauses of them ... .

Regarding supported audio file formats in EqualizerAPO ... this 'limitation' comes from libsndfile -library component, as written in EqualizerAPO command reference.

You were right, those irs files are PCM float wav audio files. Just checked with MediaInfo.

        General
        Complete name : C:\Program Files\ViPER4Windows\ImpulseResponse\Dolby Pro Logic II.irs
        Format : Wave
        File size : 38.2 KiB
        Duration : 111 ms
Overall bit rate mode : Constant
        Overall bit rate : 2 821 kb/s
        FileExtension_Invalid : act at9 wav

        Audio
        Format : PCM
        Format profile : Float
        Codec ID : 3
        Codec ID/Hint : IEEE
        Duration : 111 ms
        Bit rate mode : Constant
        Bit rate : 2 822 kb/s
        Channel(s) : 2 channels
        Sampling rate : 44.1 kHz
        Bit depth : 32 bits
        Stream size : 38.1 KiB (100%)

Also, I don't get why do I need to reboot entire computer for EAPO to work? I just restart Audio service and disable/enable audio playback device, and it starts working.

I would like to use EAPO, but for some reason I can't recreate the sound I get in V4W. Convolution impulse response is loaded and working, but I can't even get the same bass with Peace EQ, even with max setting (bass gain) there is barely any bass, and it (low shelf filter) just muffles upper frequencies, but when I switch around in V4W there is immediately a significant difference and improvement, there is warmth, clarity and presence somehow that comes along with simple bass adjustment.

I'm wondering what V4W does to make its XBass sound?
Could it be some kind of dynamic bass boost they use (it has speaker size and bass level options)? And on android app V4A also have similar option for bass but with additional Pure and Natural bass options.
To me it seems that this effect can't be achieved with EAPO and Peace alone.

The XBass sound made by V4W is probably by using a specific convolution file, especially knowing that it's the same on Android. To mimic a convolution file effect can very difficult with commands, either with V4W itself or Equalizer APO (and Peace). Btw. the V4W folders may hold these file but I guess they are created at the time of running the interface of V4W. As V4W is a clone of Equalizer APO this would be the procedure.
