[Dgwebminmodule-users] Users have NO access to DG webmin module after permission edit

Hello everyone. Just upgraded the DG webmin module on a client's site to version 0.7.0beta1b. They are running Dansguardian v2.10.0.3

As a user with FULL access to all odules in webmin I am able to see/use the various options in the DG webmin module. 

As a normal user, after the DG webmin module install the user also had access to all the options (including editing the module's config etc)

Using the "edit Module ACL" for the DG webmin module, I disabled a few options for a group that this user was in. When I saved the options, and then went back into the Module Access Control ALL options were set to NO  and the user had zero access to the module, and no icons on teh DG Page.

Now matter what I set to YES, once I click save, and go back and look, all options are set back to NO.

Also, when I click the "Reset to Full Access" and go back in they options look correct (all set to YES) but the user STILL has no access to any of the buttons in the DG webmin module. 

Can anyone offer me a little help with this?

I am new to Dansguardian.  I need to know where I can get the correct Webmin
Module for my Dansguardian installation.  I am using Ubuntu Server 9.04 -
32bit version.  I have Squid version 2.7.STABLE3-4.1ubuntu1 installed.  I
have Dansguardian version 2.9.9.7-2ubuntu1 installed.  I have Webmin version
1.490 also installed.  

 

Everything that I read says that I need to use the Webmin Module that is
compatible with DG 2.9/2.10.  I have not been able to locate that file or
link.

 

Could someone please tell me where I can find the correct Webmin Module file
and link, to download/install, for Dansguardian 2.9.9.7.

OK answered my own question. Had problems gzipping it at first so got confu=

Try the latest version of the module. If that doesn't work, please tell 
me what version of DG you are running. I will see if there is a version

Adam,

I think made a little headway, thanks to Google. I found a Perl script that
looks to be very similar, if not identical, to the one in your Webmin
module:

I customized it as noted to suit my directories and was able to run reports
on my log files without problems, which suggests a couple of things to me:

[1] there's nothing wrong with my logs, such as format or permissions
[2] maybe permissions need to be changed somewhere in my webmin module so
that the script will run on my server.

Any idea what/where?

The module looks in the log file directory as configured within the
module. To change where it looks, click on "Module Config" right after
clicking on the module from within Webmin. Configure your log directory
path, and then try the log viewer again.

The module looks in the log file directory as configured within the
module. To change where it looks, click on "Module Config" right after
clicking on the module from within Webmin. Configure your log directory
path, and then try the log viewer again.

All,

For some reason, I'm unable to display the DansGuardian logfile via Webmin,
though I know entries exist and I choose no limiting parameters other than a
start and an end date. I wonder if the Webmin module's "display logfile"
script/page just doesn't "know" where my log file is held because it differs
from other systems tested. Does the module read the dansguardian.conf for
that info? Any idea how I can correct this problem?

My system:

FreeBSD v5.4

Hey everyone.

This is the first release in quite some time. I want to thank everyone
for their patience with this release. Work has had me tied up for quite
some time. I'm glad to be back in the habit of things.

First off, I would like to let everyone know that I created a new
mailing list called dgwebminmodule-devel on sourceforge. This list will
be used by the module developers. Some other good news is that I have a
list of people interested in helping with the module. Plans are to get
that list subscribed to the devel list and begin planning. If you are
interested in helping, please let me know. This will likely be the last
version for the 0.5.10 series, unless there are serious bugs. All future
features etc. will be done in CVS to version 0.7.0. The CVS repository
has also changed names from dgwebminmodule to dansguardian beginning
with 0.7.0.


PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE test this module version! Quite a few changes went
into it. If you find a bug, please fill out a bug report on the
Sourceforge Project page. Version 0.5.10-pr4 is being left on the
project page so you can downgrade if necessary.

PLEASE BACKUP YOUR FILES ALSO! There are enough changes with this
version that you should backup your DansGuardian etc directory just in case.

[Dgwebminmodule-users] Problem Saving Configuration

Hello, all,

I'm trying to set up the dg webmin module on Fedora Core 2 and have the
paths set to my setup (installed DG 2.8.0.4-1.1 from the DAG
repository).  I installed Module Version 0.5.10-pr4 on Webmin version
1.200.

I can View/Edit Files and View/Edit Groups fine (or, at least, haven't
had problems yet.)

But, when I go to View/Edit Config, I can only view/read the configs
fine, but when I make a configuration change and try to save it, I
receive an error "Missing file to open at main::../web-lib-funcs.pl line
1577".  Thanks for any help you can provide in solving the problem!

The only dependency is with perl module Archive::Zlib for the log
analyzer. I'm at a loss as to what could be causing this. I would have
to poke around webmin on the machine to see if I can figure out what is
going on.

What version of webmin are you running? I'm assuming 1.180
