Yes, GtkHTML (and therefore CscHTML) supports normal X style copy/paste
operations.

Right now the only differences between GtkHTML and CscHTML are the
following:

GtkHTML requires GNOME and several other libs (gnome-print, gconf, oaf,
bonobo, corba, gdk-pixbuf, libart, gtk, and many more!)

CscHTML requires gdk-pixbuf, libart, and gtk.  Thats it!

CscHTML has added support for <font face=fontname> tags, plus a
programmers API for "set default font" and "allow font switch"	This lets
an application developer force a specific font on any HTML document,
overriding the documents own font selections.  (ie: in CSCMail, the "use
this font to view messages" option now WORKS! hehe)

CscHTML's perl bindings have been updated to support the new font
features

Some people have noticed that CscHTML seems to be a little faster than
GtkHTML, but there is no concrete proof of this.

[CSCMail-Users] 'add BCC' choice in the addressbook

Now we have to add to CC and then do cut/paste to BCC. That should not

too dofficult to add ...

. And also a warning when forgetting to add a subject to the email ;-)
..

Ok, to coincide with CscHTML's 1.1.0 release with support for default font
specification and enhanced font stuff, I have updated CSCMail 1.7.x (CVS) to
take advantage of the new features.

So, go grab CscHTML 1.1.0 from http://www.cscmail.net/cschtml and then update
CSCMail from CVS at http://sourceforge.net/projects/cscmail  (Checkout module
cscmail-1.7.x)

Be sure you get the updated PERL bindings for CscHTML and install them
otherwise it won't work right.

Ok, the api for the GtkHTML widget (and CscHTML widget for that matter) changed
recently...

I recommend you grab a copy of CscHTML from http://www.cscmail.net/cschtml or
upgrade your current copy of GtkHTML (and the perl bindings...)

[CSCMail-Users] Unable to start CSC Mail

I just finished installing CSC Mail using the Perl script installer.  I
installed CSC Mail as an RPM package on Linux Mandrake 7.1.  The installer
fetched and installed these packages:

- DBD-CSV-0.1022.tar.gz  
- Lingua-Ispell-0.07.tar.gz    
- Text-CSV_XS-0.20.tar.gz
- DateManip-5.38.tar.gz  
- MIME-Types-0.02.tar.gz
- IO-1.20.tar.gz         
- SQL-Statement-0.1016.tar.gz

I'm using perl 5.6.

When I start CSC Mail with 'cscmail', I get this error message:

Check your pixmap directory in ~/.cscmailrc

install; as root, and also adjust your PixmapDir in ~/.cscmailrc (for both root

Actually I got this error with v1.6.1 when I tried to run cscmail as a
normal user but not as root. I had forgotten about that.

But with this v1.7 I get the error either way as root or a normal user
account.

I recieved the same error when I tried to start 1.6.1 as root.
Starting it as a normal user works fine.

I just committed CSCMail 1.7.7 to cvs

This version has support for CscHTML, GtkHTML, GtkXmHTML, and Text only.

For all of you who have had problems in the past getting GtkHTML to work, I
strongly urge you to grab a copy of CscHTML from http://www.cscmail.net/cschtml
and install it.  There are RPM's and Perl bindings there, so it should be a
VERY easy install.  CscHTML does not depend on GNOME... all you need is Gtk,
Gdk-Pixbuf and LibArt.

If you have ANY problems getting CscHTML installed, please let me know so I can
help... One of my big goals with CscHTML is to make it EASY to use and install!

Please hack on this a bit, because I am pretty certain this will be the last
developer release prior to 1.8.0, unless people can find some bugs for me to
fix!

1)	I just wanted to extend my sincere thanks to Mahar Awamy and the other
people who have helped me with the development of CSCMail.  Prior to Muhri's
work on the installation script, CSCMail was much harder to install.  Is the
script 100% accurate on 100% of the systems?  No... Does it work on 90% of the
systems?  Yes.	I would say that it works as well or better than the
installation scripts for most commercial grade applications, and although there
is always room for improvement, I think Muhri has done a fine bit of work with
this script, and again, I thank him.

2)	Anyone who is having any problems getting CSCMail (or Pronto! for that
matter) installed can always feel free to ask for help.  If you feal that the
mailing list is not giving you the help you need, then please, e-mail me
personally.  I have always, and will always, do my best to help a user get our
program installed.  Unix operating systems are known worldwide for their
diversity and flexibility.  This comes at a price however.  No two systems are
alike.	This makes a "single" installation script a near impossibility.  I will
do whatever I can to help a user of either CSCMail or Pronto! to get it

I will try to come up with a lil faq on how to use the installer if you are
behind a firewall :)

I try most of the time to make migrationn-scripts for each accomplished step in
CVS be it CSCMail or Pronto - sometimes I dont until further time after
implemnting the feature  because I am not so sure if I want to keep it that way
:) but I'll try harder.

o come on.
this is not the place to have such a petty dispute.
the simple facts are:

1) cscmail|pronto is easy to install, in general
   if you have everything (and most people do)
   it is _very_ easy, and works without problems

2) cscmail|pronto is perhaps the best gui email
   client available.

3) dont fight this out on the list, keep it private,
   I for one dont care, and i doubt the rest of the list
   does either

4) james, you were quite out of line to bring it up again

    CSCMail may be harder to install than, say, M$ Office, but it is by
far one of the easier software packages to install.  Most software for
Linux comes in an RPM that simply complains that you don't have X, Y, or Z
installed on your system, offering no help in where to get X, Y, or Z, or
whether those packages themselves need M, N, or O to work.

    Maher has made the effort to write an installer that, were you to read
the directions (specify your 'get' program, have at least X already on
your system), installs just about flawlessly.  I had probelms, but I have
problems with everything since I tried running the installer from behind a
firewall the first time.

    Maybe it could be easier, yes.  Maybe someone could write the SQL to
create the database entries for you.  But over all, for what the program
encompasses, it's no more difficult to install and set up than most
software I've built from source (which this essentially is, being all
Perl).

Practically impossible? FYI I know many non-linux experts who have gone to
Maher and many others in this list and they have been quite helpful in helping
them succesfully install and run pronto. Now I consider that far from
impossible...
