Hi Rémi, there's seems to be something wrong with loggin in, like I said...I tried loggin in to the admin site with your accound with Internet Exploder, and it worked, tried the same with Firefox 1.0 on windoze and the firefox 1.0 developer edition on beOS and that didn't work....so probably something's wrong with the login code....any idea? regards, Tim _________________________________________________________________ Talk with your online friends with MSN Messenger http://messenger.msn.nl/ |

Hi guys, just got the bme page working online. Had to use the mysql db of our sourceforge account and almost everything works now. One weird thing though: I can't login to the admin page...I'm using remi's username and password, but it doesn't login.... any idea what's wrong Rémi? regards, Tim _________________________________________________________________ MSN Search, for accurate results! http://search.msn.nl |

Hi, >ps: why keeping two version of BeMSN ??? (Bme and BeMSN) > There's no such thing as two versions as Bme is based on the BeMSN code. But since the last version of BeMSN was posted to bebits we changed a lot of the internal program structure and removed a lot of bugs(and introduced a whole bunch of new ones, hehe). Simon took the old BeMSN code and applied some of the Bme changes to it. Basically this means that you don't have the Bme interface, but have some of the bugs in it removed AND have the networking code we use for Bme. We were planning to release this last "version" of BeMSN to the public so people would have one last stable release of BeMSN before Bme is completed. We'll release it now and hope we can prevent people like Jess posting beta versions in that way... regards, Tim P.s. When will we upload the new Bme page? _________________________________________________________________ FREE pop-up blocking with the new MSN Toolbar - get it now! http://toolbar.msn.click-url.com/go/onm00200415ave/direct/01/ |

Hi Guys, This has been sat on my HDD for a while, but the recent business with Jess has spurred me on to do something about it. It's basically BeMSN's UI with some of the more up-to-date network code from Bme and a few UI bugs fixed. Get it here: http://www.srcf.ucam.org/~sjt59/files/BeMSN.zip It doesn't include cryptlib (that was the only change between BONE and net_server packages IIRC). Daniel, could you add appropriate cryptlib versions to some zips and replace the BeMSN releases currently on BeBits? I'm going to be without network access for a couple of days, and when it's restored my computer will have gone home without me for a bit so I'll just be using public computers... then I'm off skiing for another week. Basically don't expect me to be very responsive for a bit :) Simon |

We can probably only reach the sf database by using command line shell(when
logged in to sf with ssh), look what it says here:
From the SourceForge.net project shell servers, you may connect to the
MySQL database server using the command-line MySQL client as follows
(replace 'projectname' with the UNIX name for your project):
Line 001: $ mysql -u projectname
--database=projectname --host=mysql -p
As stated, there will be an exception to the database naming rules if
your project UNIX name contains a hyphen. Further, you must set a password
for your database user before you will be able to access that database
interactively.
are you familiar with command line mysql Rémi? btw I changed the password
but won't post it on this list of course! (It's possible the change is still
pending...but I forgot the last password so I had to change it :D)
regards,
Tim

Hi! >I don't really see the difference between those both in fact. In the two >case, >you are not typing or moving the mouse so it seems you are not on the >computer. Well the difference is that MSN makes a difference out of it ;)...if you manually set the status to away, msn sends a status msg with AWY, but if the computer noticed no one's typing and sets the status to idle, msn sends a status msg with IDL...so in fact away and idle are two different statusses...and to make the difference more clearly we want to give them different icons... >- On mobile phone (the yellow icon in MSN Messenger) > >if you want to put more, well why not, like "Smoking a cigaret" or "At the >supermarket" but well ... not that critical to have them or not IMHO ;) > >Btw, if you need some more status icons or some modifications on them, just >ask >what you need :) > Hehe we won't add new statusses, just using the msn ones...We still need icons for blocked contacts and a signed out icon(in the deskbar, see msn)...maybe we also should make a separate icon for out for lunch...also icons for the "On mobile phone" status you mentioned and maybe webmessenger could be desirable, but we as of now haven't got a way to detect that yet....or have we? >The website is going on well, i have done the login and news part (write a >new >news, modify one, delete one). I don't really see the difference between those both in fact. In the two case, you are not typing or moving the mouse so it seems you are not on the computer. Only those are usefull IMHO: - online - away - buzy - Be right back - Out for lunch - Offline - On mobile phone (the yellow icon in MSN Messenger) if you want to put more, well why not, like "Smoking a cigaret" or "At the supermarket" but well ... not that critical to have them or not IMHO ;) Btw, if you need some more status icons or some modifications on them, just ask what you need :) The website is going on well, i have done the login and news part (write a new news, modify one, delete one). I will work now on the download and screenshots one. Hope everything will be finished and ready to put online on monday. Cheers, Remi |

OK, just tried a fresh CVS build and it works fine. It might be your cryptlib build - I tried building a new snapshot and think it was a bit broken somewhere. I'll email you the one I'm using. Simon ps: completely off topic, but aren't the "away" and "idle" icons the wrong way around? The lighter green suggests they are online but idle, whereas the empty outline suggests they're not actually there at all. I have already start to code the php, mysql will follow tonight or tomorrow morning i think. Cause i want it to be ok to see with NetPositive but not in crappy html (net+ do not support CSS :( ), i have decided to code it in xHtml / css. It's ok with Mozilla, Firefox, Safari (and also IE). On Net+, it will be like a none style website. The Xhtml is ok also CSS. Very fast and W3C validated :) Advices and reactions has already been changed to feedback ... seems like i wrote in your mind ;) For the download section, it's ok, i haven't worked on it yet so great :) Also about the traker view, i have just put it cause it was in my screenshot library (remember ... 2AM) but of course, it will be changed to a Bme window ! Cya for perhaps a RC online on monday if everything goes like it started. Regards, Remi ps: all filenames and comments in the code are in english, so you will all be able to first understand how it works and make changes if needed :) |

Very very weird! I had a similar problem the other day myself. I checkout (not update, checked out to a clean folder) the first emoticon grid version and I was unable to build the project. It marked errors on every source file that used the map.h header. Really weird, I finally replaced the BeIDE project file with my previous copy and from there was able to build the new code. I don't understand why a file will build and the other wont. Any ideas? I suggest that if the BeIDE project file is not changed (added/removed files, libraries, etc) don't commit it. What do you think? Regards, Daniel > Very weird! > > I'll try building it later...haven't got time now....I must say I > mainly use > the BONE project file...I believe Simon is the only one using the > net_server > file....but he's currently busy working on Firefox....maybe he can > try > building the net_server version, as it doesn't work on BONE > installations(doesn't login to msn server) > > regards, > > Tim > > >From: Cian Duffy <my...@gm...> > >Reply-To: bme...@li... > >To: bme...@li... > >Subject: [bme-develop] Is there something horribly broken in CVS? > >Date: Tue, 23 Nov 2004 13:03:20 +0100 > > > >I compiled off a clean from CVS version a few days ago, on a clean > > R5, > >with the net_server build of cryptlib, and after the initial > >connection attempt, nothing.
