I guess this is a frequently asked question. There is no real 'binary' but there is this file: http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/arsperl/arsperl_184_63.zip?download you can install it when you use ActivePerl. You would also need to copy over some of the 6.3 dll's from your User tool. Because this version is compiled against 6.3 you can not use 7.x dll's. Kind regards, Michiel On 11/13/06, Jack Samson <jac...@ho...> wrote: > Hi All, > > Does anyone have ARS Perl for version 6.0 or greater compiled for a Windows > 2003 server? Hi All, Does anyone have ARS Perl for version 6.0 or greater compiled for a Windows 2003 server? I do not have a C compiler and wanted to see if I can run a few ARS perl programs. Can someone please let me know if I can download a free C compiler and compile ARS Perl for Windows 2003? Any recommended tricks? Thanks in advance, Jack _________________________________________________________________ Add a Yahoo! contact to Windows Live Messenger for a chance to win a free trip! http://www.imagine-windowslive.com/minisites/yahoo/default.aspx?locale=en-us&hmtagline |

Jeff,
I just noticed that it is failing during ars_SetEntry() call but it is
setting the value correctly though.
Looks like this is all because I got one "Fatal" error during "make
test".
Any idea what's causing this...
Thanks,
Mano

I'm getting the same thing on a script i'm using to load up some data with
ars_MergeEntry. The script works but it is not happy.
This is ARSPerl 1.85 compiled against the 6.3 libs on Remedy 7.0.1 Solaris
10.

Hi, We have one .pl script where arsperl and cgi are used to build a survey web page. When we click the submit button, it submits survey fine (meaning some part of the arsperl is working fine) but at the end it is giving following error (instead of showing the submit successful): --------------- [] GetFieldCached failed to deref hash w/server name (ARERR #1) [] GetFieldCached failed to fetch fieldId from hash (ARERR #1) [] GetFieldCached failed to fetch fieldId from hash (ARERR #1) [] GetFieldCached failed to fetch fieldId from hash (ARERR #1) [] GetFieldCached failed to fetch fieldId from hash (ARERR #1) [] GetFieldCached failed to fetch fieldId from hash (ARERR #1) --------------- Any idea why I am getting this. Thanks, Mano |

George:
Hi, Remedy::ARSTools is a perl wrapper I wrote long ago for ARSperl. It
doesn't work well with ARSPerl > 1.74.
A lot of the things I had built in Remedy::ARSTools are now available
in the ARSPerl distribution, so this module is pretty much deprecated.
I've been meaning to either fix the module, or update the documentation
on CPAN to reflect the fact that it's broken past 1.74, but I've not
been able to find the time to do either.
it's probably better just to use the ARSperl distribution's API rather
than my perl wrapper.

Hi All,
I'm new to the Arsperl API and I'm wondering if anybody can help. I'm
using Remedy-ARStools 0.7 to interface and I'm having trouble pulling
out a ticket:
#!/usr/bin/perl -w
use Remedy::ARSTools;
use Data::DumpXML;
use Data::Dumper;
# HPD:HelpDesk - HD's
# CHG:Change - CHG's
# CHG:Task - TSK's
@fields = ("Change ID+");
$remedy = Remedy::ARSTools::new( Server => remserver, User => "remuser",
Pass => "rempass", ConfigFile => "RemedyConfig.conf" ) || die
($Remedy::ARSTools::errstr);
$data = $remedy->Query(QBE => "1=9525", Schema => "CHG:Change", Fields
=> \@fields) || die $remedy->{errstr};;
print dumper($data);
When I run this, I get the following:
# ./foobar.pl
can't get ticket list: [ERROR] GetListFields must be an ARRAY reference
(ARERR #80005)
Is this a common mistake? Perhaps somebody could point me in the right
direction?
Thanks in advance,
George

There is no real 'binary' but there is this file: http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/arsperl/arsperl_184_63.zip?download you can install it when you use ActivePerl. You would also need to copy over some of the 6.3 dll's from your User tool. Because this version is compiled against 6.3 you can not use 7.x dll's. Hi List, Sorry - I really did spend most of this morning searching for the Windows binary kit. Where can I find it? Thanks, Rich Thompson |

Chris, I can not answer all of your questions, but I hope this helps. ARS API (by design) should work with previous versions. ( Unless there is some major change that requires a "break" to happen. Which should be avoided where possible and mostly limited to "Security" type issues.) So in all likely hood ARSPerl v1.85 was written (or last updated/test) when v6.3 was the "latest version". I doubt anyone from the project has really tested against v7, but I would expect it to work. (And I would also expect to do my own testing of it too.) The extent to which you need to test depends on what parts of ARSPerl your using. I can also comment on the "encrypted connections" part with respect to an v6.3 ARS server. There are some "ARSPerl compile time settings" that you need to get the encryption libs in place. Other than that, it has worked well for us. I hope that v7 does not bring us any new pain points. ( I have not noticed any changes in the C layer that look alarming to me. So I expect no issues with v7 API specifically, but I could have missed something too.) Hello, I was curious if anyone is using arsperl with ARSv7.0. We are in the process of an upgrade and I notice that arsperl.org lists ars= perl 1.85 as supporting up to ars6.3 API. Will it work with 7.0 API limited to 6.3 functions? Will it work at all? I will also be running Remedy encryption configured to require encrypted co= nnections. If anyone has any comments on that I would like to hear them too= ! Thanks, Chris Smith |

Hi Vinod, I'm not sure you can do this. You could never use a function in the Run If part of a filter or Active Link, so I don't believe you would be able to use it in a Load Qualifier either. You would probably need to set a hidden field using the length function via workflow and then use that field in your qualifier. Regards, Thomas Worth _____ From: ars...@ar... I need to retrieve rows from a table, where the data in a column length is greater than 4 How can I use length function in ars_LoadQualifier. I am using the following $schema = "PagerNotification"; ($q = ars_LoadQualifier($c, $schema, "\"Attachment 1\" != \"NULL\"")) || die "Unable to load $ars_errstr"; Above is retrieving all the records from PagerNotification form How can I use length function in ars_LoadQualifier.
