Free alternative for Office productivity tools: Apache OpenOffice - formerly known as OpenOffice.org - is an open-source office productivity software suite containing word processor, spreadsheet, presentation, graphics, formula editor, and database management applications. OpenOffice is available in many languages, works on all common computers, stores data in ODF - the international open standard format - and is able to read and write files in other formats, included the format used by the most common office suite packages. OpenOffice is also able to export files in PDF format. OpenOffice has supported extensions, in a similar manner to Mozilla Firefox, making easy to add new functionality to an existing OpenOffice installation.

Writer2LaTeX and Writer2xhtml is a collection of converters from OpenDocument Format (ODF) to LaTeX/BibTeX, HTML+MathML and EPUB. It is delivered as a standalone java library, as a command line application and as extensions for LibreOffice.

It integrates everything you need to search, organize and create academic literature in a single application: a digital library, reference manager, PDF and file manager, note taking and mind mapping. xindy is an index processor that can be used to generate book-like indexes for arbitrary document-preparation systems. This includes systems such as TeX and LaTeX, the roff-family, and SGML/XML-based systems (e.g., HTML).

This project will compile a hungarian wordlist for use with spell-checkers like aspell. Additionally it will develop generic tools useful to compile and maintain wordlists for any language.

FarsiTeX is a free Persian/English bidirectional typesetting system based on Donald Knuth's TeX and Leslie Lamport's LaTeX. Currently FarsiTeX is based on old LaTeX2.09. Windows and Linux ports are available.
