User Reviews

  • Does anyone still support this project? There are a couple of improvements that I would like to see and that would help the project. But I'm not a programmer, I'm a user. I would like to see a screen dimming button so that I could turn off the 2nd screen. black screen button. I would like to see the text playback from the cursor position. But many modern programs work with voice. Playback by voice, speed.

Hi @simkaco, Sorry for the late reply, I don't check the SourceForge page very frequently. To answer your questions. > Does anyone still support this project? Imaginary Teleprompter is in maintenance mode. This means no new features get added unless someone else contributes them and no one has contributed features in years. The other developers and I have since moved on to other projects. I make sure Imaginary Teleprompter continues to be functional and available, but that's about it. Development wise, I've moved on towards developing a different open source teleprompter app called QPrompt. We have a forum and a couple of chats for Imaginary Teleprompter. If you ask questions there, you will get tech support. I check them daily. > I would like to see the text playback from the cursor position. va2ron1 actually developed this feature for Imaginary Teleprompter but we never got around to publish it because it was still buggy. QPrompt's design is different in this regard, so playback always starts from where you're at in the editor. > Screen dimming button so that I could turn off the 2nd screen I haven't added this to QPrompt yet, but there is already a plan to add this. > many modern programs work with voice. Playback by voice, speed. Both Imaginary Teleprompter and QPrompt focus heavily on the needs of professional teleprompter operators and we don't want people taking their jobs away, so we haven't put much work into this. That said. here's a video of me talking about how we plan to add this feature eventually in QPrompt; in a way that is helpful and doesn't simply scroll the teleprompter for individuals but helps them regulate their speed: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hWuB9qGDbj0
  • thanks for a great program under a free license!
  • Awesome
  • Wonderful truly - except it can only prompt in full-screen mode - it would really benefit from a prompting within a window feature! Apart from that, a real bomb. Love it, thank you so much.

Hello @zayter, Imaginary Teleprompter developer here. Thank you for the great review! You should check out my new teleprompter software, QPrompt, which enables prompting in windowed mode by default. Download from: https://sourceforge.net/projects/qprompt/
