This library allows you to use your built-in or external webcam directly from Java. It's designed to abstract commonly used camera features and support various capturing frameworks. Assume a situation when your code depends on some capturing framework, but suddenly you have to drop it and use a different, maybe newer one (e.g. replace archaic JMF with newest GStreamer). By doing this you will have to rewrite significant piece of your code because these frameworks are completely different and not compatible at all. This is where Webcam Capture API comes to save the world - it was created to remove the burden of such situations so you do not have to rewrite your code ever again, but instead, you can simply switch the driver class to a different one. -

google-java-format is a program that reformats Java source code to comply with Google Java Style. The formatter can act on whole files, on limited lines, on specific offsets, passing through to standard-out (default) or altered in-place. There is no configurability as to the formatter's algorithm for formatting. This is a deliberate design decision to unify our code formatting on a single format. The formatter can be used in software that generates java to output more legible java code. Just include the library in your maven/gradle/etc. configuration. A google-java-format IntelliJ plugin is available from the plugin repository. To install it, go to your IDE's settings and select the Plugins category. Click the Marketplace tab, search for the google-java-format plugin, and click the Install button. -

Caffeine
A high performance caching library for Java
Caffeine is a high performance Java caching library providing a near optimal hit rate. A Cache is similar to ConcurrentMap, but not quite the same. The most fundamental difference is that a ConcurrentMap persists all elements that are added to it until they are explicitly removed. A Cache on the other hand is generally configured to evict entries automatically, in order to constrain its memory footprint. In some cases a LoadingCache or AsyncLoadingCache can be useful even if it doesn't evict entries, due to its automatic cache loading. To improve integration, JSR-107 JCache and Guava adapters are provided in extension modules. JSR-107 standardizes a Java 6 based API to minimize vendor specific code at the cost of features and performance. Guava's Cache is the predecessor library and the adapters provide a simple migration strategy. Automatic loading of entries into the cache, optionally asynchronously and size-based eviction when a maximum is exceeded based on frequency and recency. -

JavaPackager is a hybrid plugin for Maven and Gradle which provides an easy way to package Java applications in native Windows, MacOS or GNU/Linux executables, and generate installers for them. It was born while teaching to my students how to build and distribute their Java apps, and after seeing that a chain of several plugins was needed to achieve this task, I decided to develop a plugin to rule them all. Apply JavaPackager plugin in build.gradle using legacy mode (because at the moment it's only available in Maven Central repository). When you build your app, all configuration details are hardcoded into the executable and cannot be changed without recreating it or hacking with a resource editor. JavaPackager introduces a feature that allows passing of additional JVM options at runtime from an .l4j.ini file (like Launch4j does, but available for all platforms in the same way). -

Javassist (JAVA programming ASSISTant) makes Java bytecode manipulation simple. It is a class library for editing bytecodes in Java; it enables Java programs to define a new class at runtime and to modify a class file when the JVM loads it. Unlike other similar bytecode editors, Javassist provides two levels of API: source level and bytecode level. If the users use the source- level API, they can edit a class file without knowledge of the specifications of the Java bytecode. The whole API is designed with only the vocabulary of the Java language. You can even specify inserted bytecode in the form of source text; Javassist compiles it on the fly. On the other hand, the bytecode-level API allows the users to directly edit a class file as other editors. -

Micronaut Data
Ahead of Time Data Repositories
Micronaut Data is a database access toolkit that uses Ahead of Time (AoT) compilation to pre-compute queries for repository interfaces that are then executed by a thin, lightweight runtime layer. Both GORM and Spring Data maintain a runtime meta-model that uses reflection to model relationships between entities. This model consumes significant memory and memory requirements grow as your application size grows. The problem is worse when combined with Hibernate which maintains its own meta-model as you end up with duplicate meta-models. Micronaut Data instead moves this model into the compiler. Both GORM and Spring Data use regular expressions and pattern matching in combination with runtime generated proxies to translate a method definition on a Java interface into a query at runtime. No such runtime translation exists in Micronaut Data and this work is carried out by the Micronaut compiler at compilation time. -

Because the Spring team did not want to release with code based on a non-released version of MyBatis, official Spring support would have to wait. -
