Shimmer is an Android library that provides an easy way to add a shimmer effect to any view in your Android app. It is useful as an unobtrusive loading indicator that was originally developed for Facebook Home. Shimmer for Android is implemented as a layout, which means that you can simply nest any view inside a ShimmerFrameLayout tag, and call to start the animation from your code. That's all that is required. The layout will use the values you specify either on the tag (using custom attributes) or programmatically in your code, and generate an animation on the fly. See the API reference for further details. Note that you cannot use the custom attributes on the tag if you use the Jar file. You can instead download the AAR file and reference that locally in your project. You can use the included Gradle wrapper to build the Shimmer library and sample application locally as well. -

Epoxy is an Android library for building complex screens in a RecyclerView. Models are automatically generated from custom views or databinding layouts via annotation processing. These models are then used in an EpoxyController to declare what items to show in the RecyclerView. This abstracts the boilerplate of view holders, diffing items and binding payload changes, item types, item ids, span counts, and more, in order to simplify building screens with multiple view types. Additionally, Epoxy adds support for saving view state and automatic diffing of item changes. We developed Epoxy at Airbnb to simplify the process of working with RecyclerViews, and to add the missing functionality we needed. We now use Epoxy for most of the main screens in our app and it has improved our developer experience greatly. If you are using layout resources in Epoxy annotations then for library projects add Butterknife's gradle plugin to your buildscript. -

vlayout customizes a VirtualLayoutManager, which inherits from LinearLayoutManager and introduces LayoutHelper Virtual layout manager manages a series of layouthelpers, and gives the specific layout ability to LayoutHelper. Each LayoutHelper provides a layout method. The framework provides several common layout types, including grid layout, linear layout, waterfall flow layout, suspended layout, suction side layout, etc. In this way, the ability of mixed layout is realized, and the extension of external is supported, new LayoutHelper is registered, and special layout mode is realized. By providing a custom LayoutManager to RecyclerView, VirtualLayout is able to layout child views with different style at single view elegantly. Library to implement the Bottom Navigation component from Material Design guidelines (minSdkVersion=14). Bottom navigation bars display three to five destinations at the bottom of a screen. Each destination is represented by an icon and an optional text label. When a bottom navigation icon is tapped, the user is taken to the top-level navigation destination associated with that icon. The bottom navigation bar is easy to reach on a handheld mobile device. When used, the bottom navigation bar appears at the bottom of every screen. Bottom navigation bar destinations should be of equal importance. Combining bottom navigation and tabs may cause confusion, as their relationship to the content may be unclear. Tabs share a common subject, whereas bottom navigation destinations are top-level and disconnected from each other. -

Apply background tinting to the Android system UI when using KitKat translucent modes. Android 4.4 (KitKat) introduced translucent system UI styling for status and navigation bars. These styles are great for wallpaper based activities like the home screen launcher, but the minimal background protection provided makes them less useful for other types of activity unless you supply your own backgrounds inside your layout. Determining the size, position and existence of the system UI for a given device configuration can be non-trivial. This library offers a simple way to create a background "tint" for the system bars, be it a color value or Drawable. By default it will give you a semi-opaque black background that will be useful for full-bleed content screens where persistent system UI is still important - like when placed over a map or photo grid. -

A custom view component that mimics the new Material Design Bottom Navigation pattern. You can add items by writing a XML resource file. The icons must be fully opaque, solid black color, 24dp and with no padding. For example, with Android Asset Studio Generic Icon generator, select "TRIM" and make sure the padding is 0dp. Define your tabs in an XML resource file. Then, add the BottomBar to your layout and give it a resource id for your tabs xml file. By default, the tabs don't do anything unless you listen for selection events and do something when the tabs are selected. This new version has cleaner code and better APIs. No more unnecessary stuff or spaghetti mess. Now the look, feel and behavior is defined in XML, as it should be. No more nasty regressions, thanks to the automated tests. Everything is a little different compared to earlier, but it's for the greater good! -
