Radiation Spectrum Method : a modal BPM (Beam Propagation Method)
RSM (Radiation Spectrum Method) is a 2D rigorous tool to solve the Maxwell equations for the propagation of light in integrated optics or photonics devices. It makes use of an eigenmode expansion method to solve the electromagnetic problem. This software running on Windows and MacOS comes with a GUI that permits to define with the aid of files or scripts the arbitrary and complex geometry of the waveguide. Of that way any waveguide geometry can be handled. Several plots are available : refractive index plot, field propagation plot and modes spectrum plot. This permits, with the interpretation of the guided and radiation modes spectrum, a physical understanding of the propagation mechanisms in the integrated optical device under evaluation. Spectral-SpecPro helps with the manipulation of optical spectroscopy data. Spectral takes files produced by Jasco instruments (uv-vis absorbance, fluorescence, circular dichroism readings as a function of wavelength, temperature, or time) and facilitates basic operations such as unit conversion (CD spectra), conversion into the format taken by CDPro (estimation of secondary structure; CD spectra), scatter correction (absorbance spectra), smoothing, re-sampling of the x-axis, and generic combination (sum, product, average, standard deviation) of multiple curves. Wire Factory Simulator (WFS) is a free software to simulate the control of a factory, mainly controlled by IEC 61499 applications. You can build your own factory and controller. The controller can be implemented on any programming language. WFS was originally built to simulate the action of an IEC 614999 application. So, the devices in the factory are easily connected to IEC 61499 applications. The WFS were mainly tested with FBDK (http://www.holobloc.com/). This Python script reads in a DXF (ascii) file and generates a PCB output compatible with PCB Designer, part of the gEDA suite. It is designed for two purposes: One is to generate a PCB snippet from a mechanical drawing (such as a board outline), the other is to produce element files from CAD drawings. PCB snippets are easily imported into an existing gEDA-PCB project using File -> Load Layout to Buffer. Generated element files are ready to use (except for special cases like no-paste flags and rounded pads). -

An Efficient Binary data Format
EBF, which stands for Efficient Binary Format, is a binary file format for reading and writing binary data easily. Reading writing routines are currently available in C,C++,Fortran,Java, Python, IDL, MATLAB. A program called ebftkpy which has a set of utility functions to work with the .ebf files , e.g., viewing the contents and getting a summary, is also provided. The EBF specification is designed to be concise and easy to understand to make it easier for others to write their own code if needed. It is also designed to simplify the programming of input output routines in different programming languages. In a nutshell an EBF file is a collection of data objects. Each data object is specified by a unique name and a single file can have multiple data objects. Each data object is preceded by a meta-data or header which describes the binary data associated with it. Among other things, this header allows the files to be portable across systems with different endianess. -

This project has been moved to: https://github.com/fmipp/powerfactory-fmu The FMI++ PowerFactory FMU Export Utility is a stand-alone tool for exporting FMUs for Co-Simulation (FMI Version 1.0 & 2.0) from DIgSILENT PowerFactory models. It is open-source (BSD-like license) and freely available. It is based on code from the FMI++ library and the Boost C++ libraries. The FMI++ PowerFactory FMU Export Utility provides a graphical user interface (new in version v1.0) and - alternatively - Python scripts that generate FMUs from certain PowerFactory models. Additional files (e.g., time series files) and start values for exported variables can be specified. Currently, two types of simulations are supported: In quasi-static steady-state simulations a power system’s evolution with respect to time is captured by a series of load flow snapshots. RMS simulations allow to calculate the time-dependent dynamics of electromechanical models, including control devices (new in version v0.6). -
