GraphicsMagick provides a set of commandline tools and programming APIs for manipulating, editing, and converting raster and vector images. It is derived from ImageMagick, with the objective of providing better stability and performance than ImageMagick while retaining the original MIT/X11 license.

gImageReader is a simple Gtk/Qt front-end to tesseract. A GUI to ease the process of producing a multipage PDF from a scan. gscan2pdf should work on almost any Linux/BSD machine.

FreeMoCap is an open-source markerless motion capture system that enables users to record human movement using ordinary cameras and convert the footage into usable 3D motion data. The project’s goal is to democratize motion capture by removing the need for expensive suits or proprietary studio hardware, instead relying on computer vision and pose estimation pipelines. It processes synchronized video feeds to reconstruct skeletal motion, which can then be exported for animation, biomechanics research, or creative projects. FreeMoCap includes tools for calibration, recording, processing, and visualization, allowing users to move from raw footage to structured motion data within a single ecosystem. Because it is open and extensible, researchers and developers can adapt the pipeline for specialized motion analysis or integrate it into animation workflows.

phpSANE is a web-based frontend for SANE written in HTML/PHP so you can scan with your web-browser. It also supports OCR.

LinPHA is an easy to use, multilingual, flexible photo/image archive/album/gallery written in PHP. It uses a SQL database to store information about your pictures. It comes with a HTML based installer, so you don't need experience in setting up SQL

xvidcap is a screen capture enabling you to capture videos off your X-Window desktop for illustration or documentation purposes. It is intended to be a standards-based alternative to tools like Lotus ScreenCam.

Scanning albums is not an easy task, since the extraction of actual photographs within scans is usually very tedious. This tool allows you to scan as much as you can fit into your scanner and then semi-automatedly extract the contained photographs. YASW (Yet Another Scan Wizard) is an application used to correct images taken with a camera. It can be used to post process the scanning of a book (see http://http://www.diybookscanner.org/ ) or to correct an individual image taken with our camera (A poster in the street).
