About the tool

Folder iChanger is a lightweight utility that replaces the default icons for folders, hard drives and removable storage with icons you choose. Changes are applied persistently so the custom icons remain visible even if those folders are moved to another computer that doesn't have Folder iChanger installed.

• Export icons you extract and save them in multiple image formats (for example: ico, png, bmp, jpg).
• Pull icons into the program from .ico files and extract icons embedded inside executable resources (exe, dll, ocx, cpl, scr).
• Apply new icons to many folders at once — add items manually to the program’s list or let the app scan subfolders and include them automatically.
• Replace the default icons for folders, internal drives and USB/flash media; the app also supports optional non-standard icon sets beyond the default Windows collection.

How it operates

Folder iChanger lets you build a collection of icons or import ones you already have. You can select individual folders or point the program at a directory tree so it will find and list subfolders for batch processing. When you apply changes, the utility updates the necessary settings so the chosen icons appear consistently.
