For Windows there's a macro "Show_in_WindowsExplorer.bsh" at the Community page (http://community.jedit.org/?q=filestore/browse/36). I guess it wouldn't be not too hard to extend it to support other OS's for people knowing these systems.
Like every macro it can be added to the text area's right-click menu. For file system browser it's not possible at this point, I think.

Sounds good.
Will it also be possible to and it to the context menu in the file system browser?
Or is that a specific feature request for that part?
When 2947472 is closed, you should be able to add launcher actions to your context menu.
"Open in desktop" works for files but not folders yet. Re-opening.
