Find the desktop or start menu shortcut, right-click on it and chose "Properties" at the popup menu. The properties dialog appears. Clear the field "keyboard shortcut". Althogh I've always been using this keyboard shortcut, I also agree it's confusing for everyone who doesn't know about this. So I think it would be better to not assign this system wide keyboard shortcut by default.
