I don't know to what extend you consider your list exhausive but I would at least propose to include - In the end users section: - a part for anonymous! Yes, there are things worth explaining to people just browsing the site; search versus advanced search; access keys; RDF feeds and the like are worth a note. - adding content etc. of course is a bit vague. Under the etc I would like to see not only a description of the plain Plone UI but also things like kupu or ExternalEdit explained (maybe even (re)structured text?) as well as bulk imports via FTP or WebDAV. - In the configuring part: - in addition to what you've already mentioned: configuring for development and debuging - configuring user/member handling: plain Zope versus external user sources like LDAP, ActiveDirectory, what have you, .. including Plone's add-ons like CMFMember or PAS/Membrane ... - In styling the site: - how to provide several skin selections (this would make a number of the currently mentioned chapters more understandable) - how to move from TTW customizations to product/file-system based site/skin design (something a la DIY..., frostbyte, ...) - Python programmer - add a section on programming style, conventions and best practices - Other components (tools, etc): I hope this will include an explaination of installing 3rd party products (and where to find them) - feel free to copy&paste from http://docs.neuroinf.de/programming-plone/appendixC as you see fit. Things I didn't see addressed at all (but might have missed) - how to code for best usability - how to code for best accessability (which is not the same!) - how to code for best device independendance (hand-held versus browser versus ...) - how to code for i18n/l10n support ... (more to follow - hopefully) Raphael > > We would also want to not display everything on the same page or use > CSS+JS-based expandable blocs so people display what they really want to > look at, or as someone suggested, just a smart search interface that > helps people find their way. > > Now to reality : we want to do something simple and effective, and do it > incrementally since we have limited time.
