Hi Robert, please ask on https://community.plone.org/ You can add a [versions] section to your buildout.cfg and this will be taken into account. Hello, I am Aman Arora (irc:aarora). A Plone Core Developer (student) and GSoC-2016 aspirant in my fourth year pursuing BTech-CSE from International Institute of Information Technology - Hyderabad (IIITH), India. I am also a former GSoC student. I previously worked with Plone Foundation in GSoC-2014 and with BIKA Labs in GSoC-2015. I worked on Collective.Ploneboard with Timo Stollenwerk (irc:tisto) as my mentor, in 2014 for Plone Foundation. My project was to build Ploneboard based on Dexterity content types, so that it can replace Products.Ploneboard which is based on Archetypes. I also worked on integrating new features like having User Reputation (Karma), Message-board Statistics and others into Collective.Ploneboard. You can find my work on: https://github.com/collective/collective.ploneboard I worked on Inventory Management Module (IMM) with Jordi Puiggené (irc:xispa) and Campbell (irc:rockfruit) as my mentors, in 2015 for BIKA Labs. My project was to build an Inventory Module inside BIKA LIMS itself, which could remove the dependency over external application (ERP) and handle the inventory management for lab products and reagents. Bika LIMS is based over Plone, so I got a good opportunity to get more experience working on Plone. You can find my work under gsoc/inventory branch on: https://github.com/bikalabs/bika.lims and https://github.com/Ammy2/Bika-LIMS My skills include Programming languages: Python, Java, GNU C/C++, Html , Css, Javascript, jQuery and other languages, plus I have good knowledge of Plone, Zope(moderate) and ZODB(moderate). I went through the project ideas for this year and found the idea *Content Drafts : **Integrating and extending plone.app.drafts into Plone with support for Archetypes and Dexterity *interesting. My skills set matches the requirement. I worked with Dexterity content types while working on Collective.Ploneboard and with Archetypes while working on IMM for Bika LIMS. And thus I would like to work on this project. It would be great if the mentors Ramon Navarro Bosch and/or Nathan van Gheem, can guide me so that I can start working on the idea. Kindly also let me know about the details which could help me develop the idea further. Waiting for your response. Regards, Aman Arora IIIT-H +91-8008182659 |

sorry … hm, though I’ve been a subscriber to the list for years, it said, I could not post but should subscribe first, which I did now. Sorry, if this mails comes to you for a second time (at least I myself did not get it back via the list.) Bernd Original message: Hi, I have a suggestion for a project: I very much like the idea behind ftw.book by 4teamwork from Berne, Switzerland: It provides a Plone class "book“ that creates a LaTeX-output for a printable PDF. At the moment, it is functioning but rather as some kind of „proof of concept“ with the basic functionalities. It would be great to extend that and offer – via the plone web interface – some more of the options from the LaTeX „universe“. They themselves are to busy with other projects so they cannot develop it further at the moment. But I guess it should be easy, based on ftw.book, to develop. e.g., other classes like article and proceedings with some options for type face, paper size etc. This could not only bring a simple version of LaTeX to the people via the web, but also allow to create online repositories for publications. As far as I know there is no such (free) solution available, and even large publishing houses still use for their publishing process the old-fashioned system where the author reads some 100 pages of Word or PDF document describing the required style of the text, sends the word file to the editor who sends it to the layouter (with some bounces forth and back between these three) … until it finally is „finished“ with InDesign or something alike and then sent to the press. What do you think? Hello everyone, I was looking for this year projects ideas for GSOC but they are not updated yet so it will be great if we get the updated list as I know there will be few ideas from previous year also on which no one has worked yet. I think after updating the list we can discuss the project idea and start working on them :) Cheers, Prakhar Joshi DA-IICT,Gandhinagar |

Hi all, some of you got some comments from me on github regarding code analysis errors. You can safely ignore them if you are not working actively on it. We started monitoring some[1] github repositories for code style violations. As we do that with jenkins, by default, and only on the first run, it checks **all** branches of the given repository. That was a bit unfortunate and it will keep happening (as we want to monitor all branches not just master) as we keep adding more repositories there. Feel free to discard them and sorry for the noise! Gil [1] The up to date list of monitored packages can always be seen here: http://jenkins.plone.org/view/Pkgs/ |

Hi Yask, Welcome to plone family. First of all just just fill the plone developer agreement here https://plone.org/foundation/contributors-agreement/agreement.pdf before starting contributing to plone. Also go through the different repositories and try to understand the functionalities of the add-ons and also Plone core code base. Try to run your Plone instance on you local machine and install those add-on and check how they function. After that when you become quite familiar with plone add-on functionalities, then look into the issue trackers for each repository and try to fix them up. Actually here you won't find a single code base to work on there are a lot of repositories to work on so its upto you to which repository you wanna work and want to contribute in which area. This may sound quite huge at first but that is required to do and also the simplest bugs will be updating the docs as there may be few difficulties you may have faced while setting up plone on you local machine as a lot of commands may be old and needs updation so its better to start with creating an issue and then creating a pull requests to the docs and start working like that way. Also feel free to ask anything if you face any problem. IRC channel is #plone. Hope you enjoy here. Versions Not Affected: None. Nature of vulnerability: Allows unauthorized disclosure of registered user information The patch can be added to buildouts as Products.PloneHotfix20151208 (available from pypi.python.org <https://pypi.python.org/pypi?%3Aaction=search&term=Products.PloneHotfix20151208&submit=search>) or downloaded from Plone.org <https://plone.org/products/plone-hotfix/releases/20151208> This patch is compatible with all supported Plone versions (i.e. Plone 4, Plone 5). It may work on earlier versions of Plone, but as these are officially unsupported they have not undergone the same level of testing with the patch. Installation Full installation instructions are available on the HotFix release page <https://plone.org/products/plone-hotfix/releases/20151208>. Extra Help If you do not have in-house server administrators or a website maintenance service agreement, you can find consulting companies at plone.com/providers <http://plone.com/providers>and plone.org/support/network <https://plone.org/support/network>. There is also free support <https://plone.org/support>available online via the Plone IRC channel <http://plone.org/support> and the Plone community forum <http://community.plone.org/>. Thanks The Plone Security Team is grateful to Giovanni Monteiro Calanzani and Glauter de Sousa Vilela, who reported the vulnerability. Questions and Answers Q. What is involved in applying the patch? A. Patches are made available as tarball-style archives that may be unpacked into the “products” folder of a buildout installation and as Python packages that may be installed by editing a buildout configuration file and running buildout. Patching is generally easy and quick to accomplish. Q: My site is highly visible and mission-critical. I hear the patch has already been developed. Can I get the fix before the release date? A: Plone patches are always made available to all users at the same time. There are no exceptions. General questions about this announcement, Plone patching procedures, and availability of support may be addressed to the Plone support forums <https://plone.org/support>. If you're having this IP address issue please email me directly with your IP address and I'll see if whitelisting it gets around the issue temporarily. I'm not running into that problem, but then again I usually don't log myself out. I looked yesterday at the IP screening config page of the forum, but didn't see much in the way of blacklists nor whitelists.
