Hi, For those who haven't heard, I've agreed a contract with Apress (http://www.apress.com) to produce the Plone Book. That's right we'll be getting a complete dead tree book in the New Year on Plone, based on the current book. This is very exciting for Plone not only because it will mean a book to help users understand Plone, but there will be a complete set of documentation. The resulting book will be open source under the Open Publication License and become the definitive documentation for Plone. The book (name not finalised yet) will be focused at users wanting to install, configure, administer and develop Plone sites. The book features chapters such as: - Customizing Plone's Look and Feel - Workflow - Performance and optimization - Page Templates - Writing products using archetypes The book will be based on the existing book under the same license, but just to make sure I'll be contacting anyone who has committed to the Plone book, just to get explicit agreement on this. So there you go several months of paid documentation writing. Thank you very much to Apress for this opportunity and I hope you all buy a copy ;) -- Andy McKay http://www.agmweb.ca |
