To further clarify to the list given Robert's comment on github the scope of the changes I'm trying to port from my live work instance of mantis into a pull request: * Ability to define a text + html template for an email on a per-project basis if necessarily. * Event hooks to allow a plugin author to add their own customization to the templates or indeed alternative to email. For example jabber notifications. * User interface to support end users making the above changes. We needed functionality at work to send different emails to different types of users [ i.e. staff + students in our case], and also to receive notifications outside of email. Hopefully this should provide a nice tidy-up to the existing functionality. At first glance, whilst Victor's work would be incompatible with this [they are two approaches doing the same thing], there's some ideas in Victor's work that I can pull incorporate whilst trying to pull out the changes we use at work into a self-contained pull request. Being unable to base the work instance of mantis off of 1.3 means it's a fairly tedious task to port stuff around - hence the statement that I should have a patch ready for the 26th January on github. Once that's complete, it will be easier to compare and work out any missing functionality or changes required. |
